This is a great way to add a laser to the M&P Shield, which doesn't have the interchangeable backstraps of the other M&P pistols. While it means you need to use a holster designed for the laser, that is a reasonable price to pay. The unit installs and adjusts easily, and with the activation switch on the frontstrap, is very simple to use. The only thing I could think of to improve it would be a pulsing laser. That would help a bit in bright light, which is of course a laser's weak spot.
