Really great to work non line of sight. Would be nice to know when the shutter fires.

When I used it with Nikon flashes, it worked perfectly. However, when I used it with inexpensive studio flashes, the range was reduced to less than 20 feet line of sight.

This is really an FM transmitter and an FM receiver that work together to trigger your camera. The receiver is actually a knock off of the Belkin device you can use to play your IPOD through the speakers in your car using your FM radio. But whatever or however it was designed, the darn thing works like a champ. I used it for the first time shooting fireworks and thought it worked great. Would have worked better if I had taken the camera out of S mode and just used manual focus. But, you live and you learn. I have not tried it beyond 30 feet, but it works flawlessly at 30 feet. The only real downside for me is the fact that you have to tether the rather bulky receiver to the camera somehow and the fact that there is no marking to help you line up the device on the camera. While the Nikon stuff has a little white line that lines up perfectly with the line on the camera, there is no similar line on this device. I recommend putting on one using an indelible marker.
