Dell 899WG Dual Black Toner Cartridge

I have a Dell 2150cn. The toner cartridges have worked very well in the past. For regular printing from WORD, Excel, etc., the ink cartridge has a very long life. When you throw pictures in to the mix, the life of the cartrdge is markedly less. I did not like that the package was black with ink powder when delivered. the package was covered with ink dust and made a mess that I had to clean up up receiving the package.

If you are getting low yields, try the following suggestion from Level II Tech Supt: Switch to non-Dell cartridge mode. (I got an extra 3 months out of the black cartridge before the black started printing grey On the printer select: Menu System Admin Maintenance Non-Dell Choose on/yes To revert to Dell Mode, choose off/no (this will restore the % indicator).

Excellent printer. Toner cost is very reasonable. Two other friends have bought the same model 2155cn and are just as happy with their purchases.

Cartridges are listed as good for 3,000 pages. I know for a fact that they do not last that long. I print mostly text 60% (news articles, MS Word docs that I write and spreadsheets without charts or graphs) and presentations with mostly text with some graphics 40%. Perhaps Dell's definition is based on 100% text only. As such, I am disappointed with the yield. Otherwise the Dell printer is very good and has been working well since my purchase.

Bought this multi-function unit about 6 months ago. So far it provides excellent quality in all phases as far as printing, copy production, and scanning. No jamming problems. Print and copy speeds are adequate for small office. Ink is delivered promptly, but you must remember to order it since I have not found a source locally. Helps prepare quality presentation. Would recommend MFC and ink to others. No cons yet other than must order ink ahead of your need.

The cartridges are high-capacity. I have printed over 1,000 sheets and am showing that I have used 75% of cartridge. Option to purchase 2 cartridges at the same time is definitely a cost-effective way to purchase toner.
