Welds too big at the wire intersections

Just got this reel. It is REALLY hard to roll. It major problem is that the weld joints do two things. They make the "tracks" thinner making the precision of the rolling that much more critical. They also are inconsistant (although this is hard to see unless you look closely) which allows the film to jump the tracks so to speak in the worst offending welds. I figured the latter while rolling an exposed roll of film. This problem could probably be fixed with a larger gauge of wire. So highly not recommended. Save yourself some grief and spend some money on a good reel. I figured a reel was just a reel, but its sadly not so.

look fine, but not even close!

So I purchased it and it looked good... until I tried to put film on it. It was a frustrating twenty minutes in the changing bag and my arms are sweating and the film is crackling as in refuses to stay on the tracks. I later find that the thing was welded way wrong and some of the tracks are non-existing due to the over welding mess. I should have tested it with a previously processed roll. I have since Dremal-ed the thing to clean out the track as well as bent the ribs to straighten it all out. 220 reels are hard to find and expensive when you find them.

Got It Wrong!

I recently acquired a 220 back, so I ordered a 220 reel to try it out. After a half hour of trying to load it, I turned on the lights & sacrificed the roll of TRI-X. THIS 220 REEL WAS IN FACT A 120 REEL! The box it came in said it was a 220 reel. You guys dropped the ball on this time!!
