Really good tripod for my needs. I wanted something affordable so I can practice taking long exposures and I am learning about how to use my camera on a tripod. I am excited to take even more photos now. Really good construction for the price.

I've owned this tripod for almost 3 weeks. This is a very solid tripod with the concession that it does not weigh very much. This means that the legs are stiff but it can be tipped over without much effort. This is good for traveling but is only really solid when something is hung from the hook. While the tripod legs are very good for the price and weight, the two tripod heads are somewhat lacking. They both work great with a light point and shoot but when you stick a D7100 + 70-300mm telephoto lens or something similar on either head you really need to crank down the screws. Despite the necessity to tighten everything more, both heads are still very usable with long lenses, especially for the price (think $20 for each head). Where both heads fall down is in portrait orientation. The cork board and screw just aren't enough to keep the camera from swiveling around. I tried both heads and also used a smaller 18-105 kit lens on the D7100 and the cork board would begin to twist on the mounting plate as the lens would slowly rotate down. If I were to shoot with my camera mounted to the side in portrait orientation more I would definitely buy a new head, but since most of my shots will likely be in landscape mode I can't justify a new head that will likely cost more than this entire tripod + 2 heads. Overall, the light weight, sturdy legs, and acceptable included tripod heads for landscape orientation will make this my go to tripod if I'm going hiking or need to stay mobile. The only downsides are the need to add weight to the hook in some situations and the mediocre heads. I guess the snaps for the legs might seem a little cheap but they do the job and I can't imagine them breaking under normal usage. The tripod itself (without heads) is probably only $20-$30 anyway (my speculation).

it is not to large to easily take with me. I take it hiking and on my bike.
