Elinchrom EL-3000 Digital Micro AS Power Pack, 3000 watt seconds

The Digital 3000 AS powerpack has all the features of the standard 3000 AS, Micro processor controlled unit but with enhanced stability specifically for the most demanding multi-shot digital operation. This unit is identified by green displays and Digital 3000 AS with the Elinchrom red, green and blue "flashes". For regular "one-shot", or "three shot" digital, the still current standard Micro 3000 AS unit gives excellent results.

57 power variation options on each head permit hundreds of 2 head or 3 head power combinations. Maximum total power is always available as the micro-processor compensates for each and every modification. This fully asymmetrical system should not be confused with the: Split Power Asymmetry (or "lost power" asymmetry) which elinchrom offers as the 3000 Combi powerpacks. Split power asymmetry has separated capacitor groups, two or three, which may be linked together to give one/two head maximum power e.g. 3000Ws.

Separated, these two groups function independently, the maximum power combination of each group pre-selected by the manufacturer e.g. 2000/1000 Ws. This pre selected asymmetry may only be modified by dumping power of one or more groups. Total power is only rarely available and the 1/10 f-stop individual head control of a Micro - Processor controlled system is not possible. The Elinchrom Combi is an excellent unit (price/performance) but it cannot compare with the ease of use and flexibility of the Elinchrom Digital/Micro AS series.
