I've been using these lights for some portraiture and art shots (however you want to use the term) and have had great results from them. Output is consistent and having control down to 1/10 of a stop is amazing. Having a built in Skyport system really won me over to this kit versus less expensive competitors. The included softboxes have worked beautifully for me. They would be completely unsuitable for some shooters' needs of course, but for me they're just what I need. I am very glad I went for these instead of the D-lite it 4 kit. With my shooting style, I need the ability to dial down the power lower to be able to get the light close enough for the gorgeous quick falloff that I like. The extra stop at the low end on the 4s would push me past where I want to be on my aperture setting. Build quality is good. I've noticed lots of little touches as I've used them more that continue to inspire confidence. Overall, I'm quite pleased. My next lights will probably be Elinchrom as well. Nit-picking: the buttons on the back are reminiscent of microwave/appliance buttons which feel like they could wear thin with too much use, the softboxes are a bit challenging to assemble/disassemble, the light stands will only go so narrow before the center lifts one of the legs off the ground, and getting the light stands and accessories into their bag can be challenging (there is a separate bag for the heads, power cables, and reflector). Are these lights for everyone? Definitely not, but for my needs, they're brilliant...no pun intended.

The system works well for a single or two person portrait. It is easy to setup and the Light stands are fairly sturdy. I especially like the skyport for triggering the light.

I bought this set to use in my small home studio and it has been reliable through 6 sessions so far. I have used it for newborns, children, seniors and a family of five which is about max size for my studio. The wireless radio trigger is great and I don't have to worry about tripping over any cables. Overall I would say this is would be the perfect kit for someone just starting out on a budget or someone that is primarily an on location photographer that wants a portable kit for smaller areas.

Since the left hand does not know what the right is doing in this company, I shall gladly respond to this product review request they e-mailed me. (Ha Ha Ha!) I saw a D Lite 4 for [$]. I pulled up the item to purchase the next day, and underneath the product was a picture of the same product for [$] I purchased the[$] one of course. I wote in the comment section during the purchase to not have it left on my porch. I told them another tenants son recently stole from me, so please have the procduct delivered to my 3rd floor apartment where noone could see it. The product was left on my porch all day and all night until I saw it when I returned home. I opened the box and it was missing a light satnd. It was also not the D 4 I wanted but the D 4. I immediately contacted the company 2 times viw e-mail the next day and numerous times each preceding day without a respose. When they finally responded they put the blame on me, and even though there was no stand I was going to have to pay to ship the product back and be charged the initial free delivery on top of this. I have repeatedly asked to speak to someone in authority since each different customer service rep ( 5 at least ) chose not to help me just get the product I wanted. I finally just returned the product. I posted on their Facebook wall the issue, and it took all but a few minutes for someone to get back to me about the problem and just say they apoligize for the confusion. It's not confusing, it is just shotty customer service from an inferior company.
