Good flash for the money. I have used only sparingly, so I am not yet comfortable with regulation of output. Should get there in time. It has responded as a slave flash to pop up flash from two cameras and additional flash added to hot shoe of digital SLR.

Why Do You Need a Special Flash for a Digital Camera? Most popular digital camera lines have inadequate flash systems and lack a connector for use with an external flash. Ordinary slave units will not work with most digital cameras because these cameras use a very rapid series of pre-flashes (we're not talking about red-eye reduction).
The pre-flashes are used to set the white balance of the camera's image sensor chip - not the exposure. A typical slave unit will fire on the pre-flash it senses while the digital camera captures the image on the last flash. Thus, the extra light from the slave does not show up in the digital camera photo.
Digi Slave flash units are specially designed to fire on the correct flash sensedby their built in optical sensor and circuitry, thus solving the digital camera flash problem.
The Digi-SlaveDeluxe 3000 features a switch on the back which allows the user to select between the two different triggering modes used by different digital camera models. This allows it to be used with any camera on the market.
It's great for shadow free macro work such as dental and catalog photography. And since DigiSlave flash products have built in digital slave circuitry, no electrical connection to the camera is required.
In addition to being a slave flash for digital cameras, the Digi-Slave Deluxe 3000 can also be used as an ordinary 'Hot shoe' flash for any camera digital or conventional with a hot shoe connector. Two automatic and one manual exposure modes are featured.
The Digi-Slave Deluxe 3000 is engineered to be powerful yet affordable! This is a sturdy unit and has a powerful guide number of 110, selectable firing, built in digital slave circuitry, a bounce zoom head for bounce lighting. This is a great flash! Three power levels allow excellent control over light output. Works with all digital camera models! Features a one year limited warranty.
