A compact alternative to a full-scale DSLR video rig, our Flashpoint Frame-Up HD-DSLR Video Cage is a precision-machined, black-anodized aluminum framework designed to surround your camera, allowing you to mount a variety of accessories. Along with increasing video versatility, this takes the stress off your camera's hot shoe. Designed for Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS 7D, and other full-sized HD Video-capable DSLRs, it features numerous 1/4-20 threaded sockets that let you add video lights, microphones, an on-camera monitor, support arms for flags, and so forth.

Holes are also drilled throughout the Frame-Up for lighter weight and easy cable threading; there's also a built-in HDMI cable protector. Cut-outs provide access to the camera's controls, top-deck LCD screen, Compact Flash slots, and battery compartment. A hand grip on top allows both comfortable carrying and low-angle shooting; a supplied bracket can be attached to the cage's base to hold two supplied 15-millimeter rods, which are needed to mount a matte box or follow-focus system.
