Amazing Light

This light is an incredible value. I replaced a PCB Einstein light, which was cumbersome and required a big battery pack and cord to operate on location. The HSS and the radio system and how it integrates seamlessly with all their strobes is incredibly intuitive. This light has literally made me a better photographer because it simplifies everything.

I tested it in full manual mode power 30 feet from an ivy wall at night and found only a little less than a 1 3/4 stop difference with, my Nikon SB-910

First about the carrying case. Nice except the handle is on the wrong end and there are no rubber feet to protect the case when resting vertically as is the carrying position. The light, easy to operate and was able to have it work with PocketWizzard using a sync cord. The R2 transmitters work fine at one point the flash did not fire and I had to use the sequence suggested by PocketWizzard to get it to work. Turn on flash first and then transmitter then camera or flash, PW, PW transmitter ...

Error code e1 on a fairly new unit

By

 -  Professional

Error code e1 half way through a 20 person headshot shoot...9 people have a two light setup and 11 people have a 1 light set up. This most likely will cost me a repeat customer, plus what ever the repair cost will be. I wouldn't write a bad review if it had happened on a well used unit, but this head only has a handful of shoots under it's belt! Not happy! On up side the hss works flawless, and I love being able to shoot ove the sync speed.

Love this system

By

Switched to the Flashpoint Xplor 600 system from the Paul C.buff line. Couldn't be happier with it. Nothing against Paul C. Buff, it served me quite well the past couple of years but the flashpoint system has so many things I love about it.

Flashpoint XPLOR 600 HSS

By

 -  Professional

These strobes are very consistent with exposure and color versus the previous strobes I have had.Very fast recycle times as well and I like the fact I can add optional ac adapter and use the 1200 watt remote head for overpowering the sun.I purchased 2 of these and use them with 3 FP r2's for a lightweight 5 light setup. Thanks

This has quickly become my favorite light.

Folks, I have Profoto B2's....and I love them, but I bought a set of these for a second location...and wow, I just love them. Simple, dependable, and I LOVE that the transmitter I bought along with it will also fire the Flashpoint speedlight I also bought to test out. For this price, what can I say...it's brilliant!

Amazing system but...

By

 -  Hobbyist

This is an amazing system, but i'm experiencing a 4-5% miss rate on the triggers. That's with the Flashpoint XPLOR & Streaklight units. Is anyone experiencing this?

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Dan S D  Will the R2 transmitter fire the XPLOR 600 HSS non-TTL if use it on a Fujifilm camera? I don't need the HSS to work.
Diego T  Yes, my XPLR 600 fires with my Fuji X-t2. HSS does not work though.
JOHN G  On the R2, the wheel skips past the groups...ie: it goes from A to E to C etc. Even carefully moving the wheel 1/2 click doesn't go sequentially. After a couple times around you get the desired group, but is there a solution for this?
Brands@ A  Check if its scrolling backwards, otherwise if its defective Adorama will happily replace it for you- it has a 1 year warranty so you should be alright!
Kenneth T  Sounds like a defective trigger to me. I'd exchange.
JOHN G  The light stand mount pivot is extremely tight on my 3 units, and while the detents make it a super strong hold it feels like the plastic will soon break if I fold them up often for travel. Any solutions, or does it just break in over time?
Brands@ A  John, just loosen the knob and then push it with a sharp force rather than a gradual push. I have not yet heard of any reports of broken stand mounts
MICHAEL C  I have not experienced this yet but i have heard that they will break. they do have a replacement for it though that supposee to be better than the original.
JOHN G  It almost seems like the way they are built. The detents are so strong that even on full loose I can barely move the pivot. Oh well, I'll just see how it goes.
