Not bad for price

Was looking for something economical, this definitely was worth the price. Though realized that something bigger was needed after my purchase, hence my return.

Lightweight and effective . . . but . .

This combo is inexpensive, light, and the clamp is 100% Arca-Swiss (or Really Right Stuff L-plate) compatible. The clamp also includes a screw-mount-to Arca-Swiss adaptor for those who don't have an Arca-Swiss type camera plate. It held without difficulty my Nikon D700 with Really Right Stuff L-plate plus Nikon 28-300mm lens. One of the leg sections came off and became totally disconnected when I would set up the tripod quickly. Once this happened and one of the parts fell into a rocky area. It took me 2 hours to find it. Now the section that comes off is identified by blue tape. The ballast hook fell off a couple of days after I started using it. The quality doesn't compare to that of expensive tripods . . . but the price makes it an attractive choice in spite of a couple of short comings. NOTE: I used this in mirror-up release mode and got exceptionally sharp images.

Everything is says

I just received this and I am very pleased with it. It is well engineered and I am anxious to use it. The instructions are something else though. It is a good thing I am an editor and foreign language teaching consultant otherwise I might still be puzzling. That said, the illustrations make up for the tortuous grammar and syntax. This is a minor quibble

About Flashpoint F-1128

• Adorama has studied for many years the needs and wants of the beginner, advanced and professional photographer. All the equipment that bears the Flashpoint name meets these essential qualifications, equipment that is dependable at a fair price. The Flashpoint Carbon Fiber Tripods are yet another fine example that follows in the Flashpoint tradition; high quality tripods that can go the distance. Made to Adorama's specifications, you'll feel the quality the first time you set it up. Leg locks that work! They open and close with ease. Pride of ownership is only a small reason to have one of these fine tripods in your equipment bag.
• Featuring classic European Styling, these Flashpoint tripods have all the features of other carbon fiber tripods, except the high price. Besides its legendary light weight, carbon fiber does not transfer heat like aluminum, but does absorb vibrations. This feature helps to insure sharper images.
• All Flashpoint tripod legs have rubber double-grip twist locks. The center column can be separated into a low column for ground level use. The supplied wrench can adjust the leg friction to match the photographers needs. Leg tips can be set with either a rubber pad or ground spike for rugged terrain.
