Fellowes Tilt N Slide Pro Keyboard Manager, Black

I just installed the Tilt n Slide Pro Keyboard Manager. I really didn't pay close attention to the variety of adjustments when reviewing the product before purchasing it, but, again, a key aspect of these products was overlooked by Fellows. That aspect is the mouse pad and the ability to adjust it. Two key adjustments are missing: height of the pad and angle. Anyone who has used a product like this knows that the mouse tray has to be almost level, otherwise the mouse slides. With this product, once you adjust the keyboard angle to your liking, you are stuck with the same angle for the mouse. Anything over 10 degrees and the mouse goes sliding. I just modified my unit so I could create a separate angle for the mouse pad. Height of the pad is also not independently adjustable. It is set by the bracket that the pad attaches to. My next modification wil be lowering the mouse pad to a more comfortable height. Right now it is about 2 inches too high. The engineer in me often wonders how much real world testing companies do before committing their design to manufacturing and sales??

I purchase this item 10 months ago and it did not last. It broke at the arms that hold it on the desk. The weight of the product must cause stress cracks over time and with a little more weight i.e. I leaned on the item with just a little bit of weight and both arms broke in the exact same place. Before it broke I really liked the tray. It helped my arm, wrist and shoulder strain, from hours of working at the computer. I would really like something comparable to replace it with, but will see what the company plans to do.

I have enjoyed the pull out keyboard tray that my company bought for us to use. It was really easy to install. The pull out style gets it under the desk and out of my way. I am very happy with the product.

When people ask me what the sci-fi cockpit on my desk it, I tell them to sit down and try it. Their posture immediately improves. Everyone appreciates the ability to move the mouse closer to the keyboard. I have noticed there is reduced wrist and shoulder stress which is a great relief especially afte a long day at work. The product says what Fellowe's says it will do. Even though this product is clever and useful, I hope the manufacturer improves it further so that it has a smaller footprint. The keyboard gel wrists are deep and could be shorted. The lever that allows you to adjust the angle of the keyboard tray could be smaller and located below the upper left underside of the tray. Adorama had the best price and I price shopped from some very well known and lesser known vendors. Their price is what made the purchase possible. Adorama's order person was helpful, pleasant, and followed up with emails and tracking information that made for a smooth worry-free purchase. Adorama is now one of my Microsoft Outlook contacts and I am recommending them to my employer - something I only do when all goes well with a transaction. I recommend the produt and the company but hope Fellowe's makes the improvements I am suggesting.
