i am very satisfied with the Fellowes P-58CS Paper shredder w/SafeSense Technology. it works without fail and i rarely get any jamming from the feeder. unfortunately, the problem lies not in shredder itself but in the type of plastic used for the basket. i was moving it across my small office at home when i felt a ripping sensation coming fro the basket lip. next thing i knew, my shredder wouldn't work at all since the basket lip ripped where the tiny switch was located. i tried to glue the broken part back but it seems that the vibration causes the glued piece of plastic to come off. i tried looking for a similar basket but didn't find any suitable. i wish Fellowes would sell a replacement basket. i don't really want to get a new one since this is just about 2 months old.

I am so impressed with this Fellowes shredder! It is safe and reliable but this weekafter we inadvertnly had a key drop into it with a stackof papers being shredded it jammed but after we were able to pull the key out it still worked! I was so impressed and surprised. This is one tough machine!

Whoever designed this shredder needs to spend some time using it. There is a decorative bezel around the paper entry chute that is higher than the surrounding cover. This prevents both single and multiple sheets from funneling smoothly into the machine. All they had to do is make that opening recessed and narrow the chute to prevent excessive number of sheets feeding into the machine which causes jamming. That leads to overheating and the machine stops. The power cord cracked right at the entrance to the machine. I went to open it up to repair/replace the cord and the screws are so cheap then the strip the phillips head out of the top forcing me to drill out the head of the screw. I need a replacement cord and can't find one on your website. It has the power/ lousy design and construction.

This machine is great -- it gobbles up pages like a Hungry Hungry Hippo!

This shredder P58Cs is a replacement shredder for a Fellowes S70-2 which is about 10-12 year old. I liked the quality and performace of the older machine and decided to continue with a second of your manufacture. I like the styling and features of the new shredder and particularl the safe feature to avoid anyone getting their fingers in the shredding element and its quiet operation. The added feature of 9 sheets in a time saving feature also and security by the cross cutting action which makes documents nearly impossible to recover and put back together. I am looking forward to using this machine as long or longer than the older S70-2.

Large enough to handle several sheets at once without jamming

I like the way the paper is shreeded. Its is fine enough that no one could ever put it back to together. The old shreeded I could only put one piece of paper in it and most of the time it jams. This one is so easy to use

cool off period seemed longer than 15; slows up if paper not in straight. (My old shredder didn't have problems with that.). Fairly messy in terms of shreds on the floor. But in terms of "shredding quality" it does the job.

I purchased the shredder for household use. It works very well although it has jammed a couple of times. If the papers are not put in straight, they will fold and cause it to temporarily stop working. I easily fix it by reversing the blades and straightening it out. The shredder is a great size and fits in my home office without taking up too much space. I recommend this shredder to anyone who needs to shred small amounts of paper or old credit cards. It is a cross-cut shredder which is great to prevent identity theft!

I bought the product and it performed reasonably well at first. I shredded about 6 weeks worth of documents and had a total run time of about 45 minutes with plenty of breaks in between. Unplugged it and put it away. Decided to use it again 2 weeks later and it won't turn on. Won't do anything. Outlet had power, Basically it worked for 45 minutes and wouldn't work after that.

This is our third shredder for home use and definitely the best. It operates smoothly and is much quieter than either one of our previous ones. The paper feeds through quickly and easily. We have been able to shred large quantities of outdated files quickly - a job I used to dread. I love the "double" shut-off safety feature as well as the "touch" safety feature around the paper slot. It is also efficient - we are able to shred without removing staples, when necessary. I like the design as it looks very neat in our home office.

Reliable, durable my last Fellows shredder lasted almost 25 years until it died, I guess from old age.

Its the 1st shredder I've owned. Very useful for shredding old credit card statements, bank statements, etc. It could be a little smaller in size.

Shredded thus far has been durable and working well. Not jamming or overheating. Also runs at good speed and low noise.

I am totally satisfied with my Powershred® P-58Cs Cross-Cut Shredder --- it always does the job for me-- and I haven't had any problems with it at all. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a shredder at home.

This shredder is the quietest model I have used that still provides the power to shred 9 sheets at a time or credit cards. My only concernis the on/off switch which seems a bit flimsy, but time will tell. (That's why only 4/5 stars in performance category)

First shredder we have owned and after searching through consumer reviews we decided on this Fellowes model. Very pleased with the operation and shredded an entire box of paper with no issues of overheating or jamming. Easy to clean and found the window in the shredder container useful. Safe Sense feature works very well with a useful off switch as well. We feel the lubricating oil should have been supplied with the shredder however not a huge issue.

Previously owned a Shredmate for over 4 yrs and used it almost every day. Really overloaded the little thing but it always completed the task. Finally overworked it and it decided to laydown. Knew that Fellowes produced a quality product, especially after the work I put that small Shredmate through. Just purched the P58Cs and put it through the drill, with the extra options that the Shredmate didn't have, and as I expected it handled everything with ease. The wife herd the shreder going and was pleased with the sound of ease it was making with all the shredding I was doing. I highly recommend Fellowes shredders, the opitons available for the task are equal to the tasks.

We bought this device for home use, after some research and after experience of lower cost models which did not seem to last more that 12 to 18 months of home shredding of bills and private information. Unfortunately, whilst lubricating with lubricant sheets we heard a bang and the gearing seemed to fail. Rotors failed to turn although the motors inside could be heard rotating. This device failed within 4 months of domestic use. Emptying of the shredder requires the removal of the shredding unit, which is reasonably heavy and leaves shredded paper on the floor, unless the area has been prepared to receive the shredded paper.

We needed a new shredder and I found this one in the store on SALE and it was recommended by the Sales Associate. I have found it to be adequate for our needs. HOWEVER....when you empty the bin...shredded paper shards fall all over and there seems to be a great amount of paper stuck to the underside of the cutters. THAT is the one drawback to this product. Keep a broom or hand vac at the ready.

Biggest con is the small plastic fin on the side of the bin which acts as the activor for the shredding. The shredding blades have miles of life left, the motor is strong, but this small fin broke after only 13 months, rendering the shredder non-functioning. Also, removing the top to empty the bin is very messy, and probably contributed to the fin breaking off.

This is without a doubt the best shredder I have every owned. I does a great job without any problems. If I had to make one comment that I do not like about this shredder is that is is a bit awkward to remove the shredder from the bin to empty. However, I would still recommend this shredder to anyone who asks me about it.

This is my 4th Fellowes, that is why when my last one broke I bought this one. I wish I had my old one back.I had it three years. This one doesn't hold as much, is very cumbersome to load and unload. Takes me at least three times to get it back in the basket correctly so it will run. The previous one just dropped right in place. It was heavy and solid. This one is thin and not made as well. I/O/R button is very loose and wobbles. Maybe it's supposed to be that way but it feels like it is going to break. It does shred quickly but instructions say I can use it for only 10-20 paper passses! I could run the other one indefinitely. I would not buy this model again. I didn't know I was supposed to use veg oil and I used regular 3 in one oil in the last one so I probably caused it to jam up. My fault.

I bought this shredder to replace a small Fellowes Shredder which I have had for 16 years. That shredder is still working but did not have the features this one has. So far it has worked exactly as advertized. Cuts everything well and grandkids can not get their fingers in the feed slot. Have had great experience with Fellowes products over the years.
