Great Backpacking Tool

The hatchet worked well while I was working as a hiking and rafting guide! Can't seem to find it 3 years later but hoping for the best!

Good

Overall a great tool, gets the job done. The saw works great for small limbs and even trees. Well balanced and feels nice in the hand. I'm not sure why people are saying not to use the axe as a hammer I've used it to drive 4" nails no problem. I've had this axe for over a year now and absolutely love it.

Perfect Combination

The axe feels comfortable in hand and there is 0 fatigue when using it. Saw works well, too. I can get through at least a 3-4 inch limb with it. Could probably do bigger than that, but takes longer. Only 4 stars because I'm not sure why Gerber says not to use the back of the axe to strike things with. If it could be used as a hammer as well it would be 100% better.

About Gerber Gator Combo Axe II

The Gerber Gator Combo Axe II is a compact all-conditions axe for the outdoor adventurer. Made with a longer handle than the original Gator, the advantage is a greater striking force with the stainless steel head. The handle is made of glass-filled nylon and covered in Gerber's Gator texture. It offers a better and more comfortable grip in wet and muddy conditions.

The handle also houses a coarse blade handsaw, held in place magnetically, for sawing branches and brush. It's a rugged and lightweight camping essential.
