The first test images showed a very clear images and much better than my old filters. I tried stacking filters to get more magnification and still got clear and sharp images. The filter threads did not stick and are easily installed or removed. Great job Hoya.

These macro filters work great. I use them on my 70-300mm, they work best on there for really close up shots. If you can"t afford true macro lenses, these are for you. Just keep them clean and in the case when not using, and you will love these.

I was looking for a way to get a little more magnification out of the Olympus 40-150mm kit lens for shooting flowers and insects, and have found the +1 and +2 diopter Hoya HMC close-up filters to be a fine solution. They seem to be of excellent quality with effective multi-coating and reduce the minimum focus distance enough to take the kinds of photographs I'm after. These are only single element lenses, which are liable to more distortion than the multi-element achromatic designs, but I haven't found this to be a problem using the weaker +1 and +2 diopter filters (the +4 is stronger than I need). Many recommend the Raynox DCR-150 achromatic lens as being of high quality and a good value, but it is even stronger: +4.8 diopter.

Good quality close up filters, I tested on backlit greenish purple leaves of a plum tree as soon as I received the filters, could make out great detail in the leaves.

I am an experienced 35mm photog, but am a novice in digital. I use the Hoya filters to shoot Macro Pix of wildflowers. They opened up a whole new photo world for me.

Available in +1, +2, and +4 diopters for close-up photography. Close-up lenses are high-quality optical magnifying lenses which shorten the close-focusing distance of the lens. It allows the lens to go closer to the subject than before and to achieve a larger image scale.
