A standard for any kit-bag

Great for photographing with glass or water to cut the reflection. Also great with bright blue sky tone control.

Nice thin filter

Great filter, VERY thin which is both a blessing and a curse. The revolving part of the filter is so thin that it is difficult to handle and rotate w/o touching the glass.

Second Time Around

This is my second try at this filter. The first was defective (haze and spots between the glass). [...] The Filter is glass and has better coatings to reduce flare. It is also low profile so it takes a bit of getting use to when reaching around to turn it. The only problem is that the polarizing effect is very subtle. Sometimes its impossible to tell that you have made any change at all by turning it.

It works great!!! I like Hoya filters!!!

As with all my other Hoya products,I've had great luck with this filter. It's just what I wanted,a very thin filter for those very wide shots.

About Hoya 77mm Extra Thin Circular Polarizer Super MC Filter

•Light rays which are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camara lens.
•They allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc.
•They also saturate colors and increase contrast.
•Polarizers come in two variations but have the same effect. Linear polarizers work with older camera meters; Circurlar polarizers are designed for today's newer split-beam metering systems used in auto focus cameras. Check your camera's manual
•Extra thin filters are narrow construction with ultra thin glass. They are designed to avoid vignetting with today's larger wide angle lenses.
