Though not the OEM version (or price), this is a great battery. My D5000 came with a 900ma battery and I wanted a backup. I bought three of these in 2010 and they are still going stong in 2012. I have changed these to my daily users and deligated my NIKON to a backup. They hold charge and are a full amp rather than my NIKON which is a 900ma (as mentioned above). I figure that if I have purchased three and they all are still going strong, it was a bit more than luck. I do highly recommend them. ADORAMA support was very good when I first called them about these batteries. Their suggestions were great and helped me in my choice. I do not regret it.

Bought 2 batteries - charged them up when they arrived, they ran down quickly, one would then not charge at all and the other charged once and then wouldn't charge at all. Returning the batteries and will try again. If the next set does not hold up I'll spring for the Nikon battery.

I bought this as a backup form my Nikon. The Nikon battery is so good I haven't even used this one yet. It charges fast enough and is low cost eneough you could buy two for less than the price of the original Nikon so if you only use it until the original is charged one should be more than adequate.

I haven't been able to long-term test these guys yet. However, I purchased two and they charged up well and appear to work just fine in my D5000. I'll be taking them on a long vacation (with my charger in tow), so I'll get a better feel then. For the price, though, not bad at all - even if they don't last as long as the Nikon branded ones.

I charged this once and then on the second recharge, it drew a blank. Never worked again while my 2 year old Nikon battery is still reliable. Had it thought this would make a good enough backup. Forget it!

Okay for a backup, I guess. Hasn't lasted even half as long as the original battery in my D5000. Maybe it will get better after a few more charge cycles. I hope. I bought 3 of them. My fault for that.

A spare battery for a Nikon D3000 thats easy to change on the fly and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg? YES PLEASE!!! Absolutely worth the purchase even if you're an amateur photographer. Especially handy on long-term trips.

I have bought three of these Adorama batteries for my D40. The first one was a backup and have found it to be just as good as the original that came with the camera. I recently bought two more when they were on sale. After gifting one I will end up with two backups. I have plans to test their capacity on a week plus backpacking trip.

I had charged up and installed the battery for the first time and a week later, I had the opportunity to photograph the building of an igloo. I set up my new Nikon D5000 for interval shooting at 2 minutes and put a plastic bag over the camera as it was lightly snowing. The camera shot steadily for 5 hours in 17° temperatures and even now, a week later, the battery is still reading almost a full charge. I'm impressed!
