Almost hugged the UPS guy !!

By SERGIO R.

Ordered mid-October, received from Adorama last week with as much anticipation as anyone else who had one on order. Other "pro" bodies to compare this to is my 5D (original version), 5D Mark II and a 1D Mark III. I still own the Mark III and the 5D Mark II. After a week of shooting, setting up my custom functions and scrutinizing over Canons 122 page "white paper", which goes over every single feature of this body (the "white paper" is downloadable on Canon's website) I will give you brief r...

Mark IV Field Review

By LYNN C.

I've now shot 30,000+ images with the Mk IV. I'm still amazed. I'm able to shoot in extreme conditions. I've found a new ISO at 8000 I really enjoy when the lighting is poor. And, I just made a poster from a print shot at 12800iso, f2.8 @664 shutter speed. It's real easy to adjust the exposure compensation to take out shadows when shooting against the sun. Something I'd never do before.

Offering a comprehensive combination of speed, accuracy and image quality, the EOS-1D Mark IV is the perfect choice for professional photographers and subjectson the move.

With a completely redesigned 45-point AF system including 39 cross-type points, a new AI Servo II AF focus tracking system with improved algorithm combined with 10 fps continuous shooting, the EOS-1D Mark IV can handle even high-speed situations with ease. An APS-H sized 16.1 Megapixel CMOS Sensor, Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors, a spectacular ISO range of 100 - 12800 (up to 102400 in H3 mode) with an advanced noise reduction system helps ensure sharp, low-noise images even in low-light situations.

Add advanced Live View shooting, Full HD movie recording with selectable frame rates and manual exposure control plus a host of new features that enhance every facet of the shooting process. The EOS-1D Mark IV is the choice of professionals looking for the ultimate in SLR performance.

raceguy2000 r  Can you tell me the shutter count on this camera? Thanks.
ANDREW R  Are you referring to a new, used, or refurbished unit? New units are factory sealed as are refurbished units. For questions regarding used equipment please call our Used Equipment Dept.:Toll Free: 800-223-2500Local: 212-741-0052
Shopper  IS THIS A FULL FRAME CAMERA?
ANNA Q  No, it's not a full frame camera, it's a 1.3 crop body
MANDEEP K  No it is not. If you must have a full frame, look into the EOS 5D line
ACCOUNTS P  This is not a full frame camera, you owuld need the 5D mark II if you want a full frame camera.
DANIEL G  This is not a full frame however only has a crop ratio of 1.3. This camera takes beautiful pictures especially in an action paced low light environment. However if you are looking for a canon full frame you can not beat the quality of the 5D Mark II. I own and highly recommend both of these cameras. Sincererly Dan Guerin
LINDA R  No, it isn't. The Mark IV EOS-1Ds is, but not the standard Mark IV 1D
TODD K  Canon decided to retain the APS-H/1.3x sensor size for the 1D IV. Many of us were hoping for a full frame 1D this round, but this sensor performs very well. One nice aspect of this format is that the worst performing part of the full frame lens image circle, the corners, is avoided.
ALLEN P  No, This not a full frame camera. It has a crop factor of 1.3. Here is a statment from the Canon specs: The EOS-1D Mark IV features a high-resolution APS-H sized 16.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor (with a focal length multiplier effect of 1.3x) and Dual DIGIC 4 Image Processors that can process images at full resolution continuously up to 10 frames-per-second. The Canon 1Ds Mark III is a full frame camera.
GILLIAN R  Nope.
CECIL K  No. It is usely referred to as H format with a 1.3 "crop factor" compared to full frame. Great camera BTW.
STEVE L  no, but it's 1.3 focal length, most important design is 10 Frams per second which i prefer. steve
THADDEUS G F  No, this camera has a 1.3x crop factor. The 5D Mark-II (or original 5D) is full frame.
MIKE S  No. It has an APS-H sensor, 1.3x crop factor.
MIKE D  No it is an APS-H which is 2/3 the size of a full frame. A 1.3X crop.
DAVID B  No this is not a full frame camera, it is a 1.3x crop sensor. If you absolutely have to have a full frame sensor then this is not the camera for you. However in my 20 plus years of doing both professional and personal photography this is the most awesome badass camera I have ever owned or used!! The full spec's are listed on Canon's official website.
GERALD A  This camera features a 1.3x crop factor. The 5D Mark II is a full frame camera, and goes for substantially less but there are some unique features to the 1D that make it an extremely good camera if you have the budget for it. I own and use both, but find I carry the 1D more often despite its greater weight. It will take about 50 Canon lenses, and produces wonderful images because of its Dual Digic 4image processors, the ability to set an ISO up to over 12,400, and a 10 frame per second burst mode.
NELSON C  No, that would be the Mark III S or the 5D Mark II.
COLIN S  No, it is an APS-H camera. Then sensor is a size in between the full frame 5D Mk II and the 7D. The picture out of this is absolutely amazing, even in low light. I've been shooting for a month with no need of a flash in most circumstances. The crop factor is 1.3 - which gives you some additional zoom capability - but you will want to find the widest lens you can as well for wide shots. - Sandy Audio Visual
JENNIFER V  No it is not but it is the best camera I have ever owned.
MELISSA M  No, it's a 1.3x crop. I believe the only one in the series that is full frame is the 5D's.
CHARLETON C  i already paid off Bill Me Later, but I still have an account. Can I use that to purchase a camera still? Charleton
FERNANDO A. C  I suppose it depends of the credit rating you have with them. I could not because of the purchase amount, and my credit score is quite high. The amount of the camera was too high. Go ahead and try to pay for it with Bill me Later. If it does not work, it will not go through and you will have your answer.
