ok, but not dependable
The grip worked fine at first. But soon the body dials wouldn't always work when the grip was turned on so I would keep it turned off (i've since found that this is a reported problem with several of the "knock-off" grips), but then miss shots when transitioning to it from the body grip. Now when holding it for vertical shots it looses connection because of grip flex and the camera turns off.
It's cheap. It mostly works, but you get what you pay for...

Best Copy EVER
This is the best copy of any 3rd party grip I have had. Even though it does have a plastic feeling to it, it is still solid, has a good heft to it. The buttons work well, the selector wheel is clicks and works like the original. For a quarter of the price for a Canon one, it is well worth it.

Sucks batteries DRY
I bought this less than a year ago and I started having problems where within 10 minutes the camera would be dead. At first I thought SOMEHOW my bag was filled with half dead batteries. But after a client gave me her fresh batteries and ONCE again it died within 10 minutes, I knew that the battery grip has MAJOR issues!

What can I say other than the grip works as it should and and 5D would be naked without a grip. The Flashpoint grip is an excellent value.

Great product for Canon EOS 5D
take your door off of your EOS 5D, and put it on the side of Battery Grip, and attach to the EOS 5D body add batteries and away you go !!!!!!!!!!

A good copy
I ve not laid hands on the original , but this has good build quality and if i didnt know better i d say it was a Canon. I know there will alawys be pure Canon users who would not entertain it , and where it counts i ve spent 10, 000USD on lenses and bodies, but for this why not save a few and have a product that functions and looks like the orginal
