Needed the battery. For the price of the battery at other dealers got a well-made, functional camera bag and a Canon filter in addition to the battery. Was very satisfied with the kit.

My old Canon REBEL xt body died, just days before my trip .... so I had to get another one. which is hard to find up here in Alaska.So ... I ordered this outfit (along with a new Canon XTi Body) before my planned, Alaskan Inside passage Cruise. Took some outstanding photos because I able to pack all the 'gear' in one 'sock' (bag) .... I actually started out looking for a battery for my XTi, well this was the same price as a battery and WOW, what you get for that price. The bag is huge, will hold a DSLR body, plus 3-4 lenses or other accessories. Bag is well constructed with lots of dividers, and the battery is an authentic Canon battery, just what I was looking for.....great deal!

Good value for the money. Plenty of room to hold equipment. Buckles are a little hard to snap/unsnap....they are bulky.

The battery and filter are OEM quality. The bag is just the right size to hold the basic equipment needed. The bag is well padded and secure enough for travel.

I first bought a generic gear bag but it was so so. Finally got the Canon Starter Kit and found the bag superior in quality. It's a bit big but holds everything including my spare 300mm lens and battery grip. The Canon UV filter was also much better than an aftermarket one I had bought earlier. I needed a second battery for the battery grip and didn't want a non OEM one so this package with the Canon battery was an awesome deal. [...] price was great too.
