This is a very versital camera. Biggest drawback for me is no viewfinder. Hard to compose shot in direct sunlight.

Overall, for a compact camera, it is powerfull enough to take great pictures (all kids), either in the AF or the MF mode

I'm a little disapointed with the macro-zoom feature of the camera.I tried to photograph some gemstones, but could not seem to get real sharp images.Perhaps, it may be a learning curve using different settings? But, initially, I was not impressed with the quality.

Nice camera to have when one does not want to lug around a much larger camera such as the SX10 IS, but this camera does not take as many nice pictures as its predecessor the SX120. Being a casual photographer, I want an easy to use camera that I can point, shoot and not worry about blurry pictures. My mom has the SX120 and I purchased this newer version. During a family function we tried taking the same random family photos and my mothers camera took better pictures most of the time. I was very disappointed in the image stabilization of this camera. When taking random photos of family members indoors this camera would often take a blurry picture. When I would take the same random pictures of the same subjects doing the same things, indoors, and on the same setting, my mom's SX120 took much better consistant clear photos.??? I do not know if it is something internally wrong with this camera, but after this experiment I do know it is not my picture taking ability, or me shaking/moving when I take the picture. I would tell folks to buy the old model SX120 if at all possible.

I am currently taking a beginning photography class and though I miss using an SLR camera, this little camera is a great little piece of equipment. I like it's compactness, and is pretty easy to use as well. It's a fun little camera.

I purchased this for my parents to use as their old canon broke. I tested it out thoroughly before giving it to them to make sure they would be satisfied. It is a great little camera for the price. My Father takes it with him to the farm everyday and has had great results.
