So Good

We have had our Canon for a while but since getting iPhones we have used it less and less. My old Olympus, for which I had an U/W housing, finally kicked the bucket so I pulled the trigger on this housing... Really impressed. The build qualiity is great and it fits so snugly around the camera. It feels robust despite its small size and the large screen and minimal buttons make it a breeze to point and shoot. At 40% less than my local camera shop Adorama are really giving this thing away -- get it!

Perfect for diving

Very happy with this case - I like the fact that it goes into underwater mode without having to mess with the settings. I have been diving with this for over 20 dives and got great pictures. Easy to use and maintain.

Performed well on two shallow dives

I purchased this housing (from Adorama) just before a trip to Cabo San Lucas this past April. I have had the housing for all my previous Canon point-and-shot cameras (this is the 4th) but took me a while to decide on getting this one until a diving trip came out. It is bothers me to upgrade/change camera and have to sell or give away the previous camera's housing. This was out first trip to the Pacific Ocean so it was worth the investment to buy this housing and use it underwater there. The camera fits the housing perfectly. It seals very well and the clamp is well protected from accidental opening when not desired. The control buttons, power and zoom lever are nicely accessible and of a good size for my hand. The flash diffusion attachment comes with a string to secure it to the housing (like the previous models) only that this one doesn't slide, it snaps with a pin guide and secures to the rim of the housing lens cylinder. Interesting design. I suggest you get familiar with it before you dive. One thing I noticed (negative for me) is that when the camera is placed inside the housing it presets automatically to "Underwater" scene-setting. You're only allowed to select among 3 predefined scene modes: "Underwater", "Snow", "Beach", "AUTO". I personally never use the preset scene modes because I like adjust my camera manually. This was possible with my previous housing models, but not with this one. Nevertheless, the photos came fine. I couldn't fix light or focus (not allowed in these modes) so I had to let the camera do it for every shot and wait. Other than that I like the housing. It allows to change flash settings, focus mode, records video, change some parameters (exposure, ISO, white balance, picture resolution, timer, picture aspect, photo burst mode and white balance: only Auto or manual, remember you're in scene mode) NOTE: If you want to simulate these limitations on surface without the housing you can do it by pressing the "MENU" key and while keeping it pressed turn ON the camera. You'll see the "housing mode" while you keep the "MENU" key pressed.

Having trouble with This case

I just came back from a Dive trip using this case. It is well constructed and small. The problem is that all the buttons are not functional uw. I would set the camera for UW mode before closing the case and then it would suddenly switch to the snow setting under water. I have not found a way to fix this yet and I would appreciate a note from anyone who has encountered the same problem.
