The Epson R1800 is great for the small limited budget artist or photographer. We are artists and use it only for prints. The color is great almost matching the original in every way. It is quick and easy to use. The only problem that we have had is that some of the individual canvas sheets won't go through causing some waste if the canvas can't be trimmed and will feed through. You can use rolled canvas but this is more expensive and again for the small market artist the individual sheets are better and more economical. Over all we are very happy with this printer and it well be a great asset in our art business.

I was really pleased at the ease the 1800 was to set up. My first photos printed great. I am just about to print a 13X19. Am really excited about this. My next venture is to print my Panoramics. R Spurr

I have loved this printer since I bought it! I am very pleased with the quality of prints, even my B&W prints are better than I expected them to be. For the price of this unit, you can't go wrong!

Good color out of the box - Epson profiles much better than with earlier Epson printers. Can print on glossy paper again with smooth - no metamerism - results

I've only had it for a short time but it's ease of use, color rendition, and resolution are everything I expected. I also got it for $100+ off the list price with a rebate.

When I received my R 1800 everything went together very quickly, except that it would not print. I spent a lot of time on the phone with Epson Support, (they were great) they even exchanged the printer, and in the end the problem was with an external hardrive. Problem solved, and the printer always works great. Color prints on premium glossy paper really have the look and feel of old high quality photographs. The color tones are good, saturated colors really jump out and small details are crisp. Excellent results are also obtained with other types of paper. Black and White printing however, is not as good. With only a single black cartridge - depending on which type of paper is selected, Matt or Glossy -the tones tend to blend together. The cartridges switch automatically though depending on which paper type is selected and that is very convenient. Print speed is good even with large 13" wide prints. Very long prints using roll paper go quite well. I have never tried the "Print on CD" or other special applications. This is a very good printer that can handle a lot of different jobs for home use and light professional applications when the emphasis is on color work. It also works well with day to day letters and other mundane tasks. A buy with a good strong recomendation.

I don't really care for high end printers that much, as I seem to have more trouble with them than they are worth. This one has been the best and most trouble free printer I've ever owned. Easy to use, relatively easy to troubleshoot. The dot pitch on this printer is so fine that you cannot see spray dots at all. Prints with every bit of clarity and sharpness of my lab prints. I've had the giant 2' wide printers that didn't do half the quality. Now I only wish I'd gotten one that would print 16" wide...

The printer is fantastic! The photo prints that are setup through Photoshop are exceptional. The Epson software adds confusion and seems to interfere with other programs when you sellect the print command. Putting up with the software anoyance would not stop me from buying this printer again. One additional plus is the life of the ink cartridges. The printer sat for 2 months. When I turned it on and printed a photo the results were very good. I am sure my old HP would have required the ink to be changed out after sitting that long without use.

This printer gives good results on a wide variety of media. Calibrate your monitor and Epson's paper profiles will get you pretty close(Moab and Arches too). My first machine had trouble feeding matte papers and after 9 months quit feeding completely. Epson replaced it with a refurbished machine and there've been no problems in the past year.

Much better than I thought for glossy black and white photographs. Much less expensive than the next step up for the same purpose.

I probably sell more 11 by 14s than any other auto racing photographer, over 110 days of racing each year. I use Red River Paper Co Pro Glossy paper, much better! And less expensive.

For the past 10 years, I've never owned any other brand of printer but Epsons. I thought my 2200 was great, but it doesn't hold a candle to this. Next in line is a 4800!!!
