We've used this camera on 6 or 7 vacation trips and performance has been mixed. The camera was purchased primarily for underwater shots but has been used in other settings as well. I did not want an expensive camera and this one fit that requirement. I have another camera for the majority of my photos on land with more megapixels and a much better zoom. Photos taken underwater are somewhat washed out. A friend has a different brand camera and colors are much more realistic on photos she has taken on the same trips. Otherwise, the pictures are better quality than a disposable underwater camera would take. Most shots are very sharp and clear but some fast moving objects are blurred -- something expected in low light. The LCD display is difficult to see underwater so many shots are literally of the point and shoot variety. It does do a good job of moving easily and quickly from the underwater shots to those taken above the surface of the water. The shutter and menu buttons are very small and sometimes difficult depress. This is more of a problem for my husband who has large fingers. The menu buttons are almost impossible for him to use efficiently. Someone with small fingers would not have a problem. I've also used this camera for pictures on land, both inside and out. I like the quality of the pictures, the color is good, and it functions well whether I'm taking pictures of flowers in my garden or landscapes on vacation trips. Inside pictures taken without the flash are very good. I didn't buy the camera for a great zoom so I'm satisfied with its performance in that area. Overall, it is a good camera for the price and features. I take it on every trip as a backup camera.

This is a great little camera that takes really good pictures including under water. I just spent a week on a beach vacation and never took my other camera out of the case. I used this one in the pool, in the Gulf, while snorkeling, while dolphin watching from a boat and for many other family and vacation pics during the week. Although I was skeptical when I first got the camera, it is truly waterproof. It has a long lasting battery and is easy to use. The only 2 negative comments I would have is that there is some lag time when a photo is taken and in dark areas you need to be fairly close to your subject for the flash to be effective. These things not all that important to me as I bought the camera specifically for water sports and snorkeling.

We bought this camera because we love the water and are so excited to take pictures and video underwater. So far it works really great, better than expected! Even when the water was dark it seemed to add light, we can't wait for summer. It also takes great everyday pictures. It shoots fast so we haven't missed any moments yet. The only negative I noticed is has to be rewaterproofed after about a year. That isn't cool. But we ususlly buy a new camera about every other year anyway. And one time we thought it wasn't turning on but realized we put the battery in backwards, very easy to make that mistake. This is an all around great camera at a great price. Having 6 kids two of which are toddlers an accident of it falling in the toilet is no longer a worry.:)

I brought this camera to my wife to replace a old Nikon L4 and use the camera on next summer vacation with the Water Proof specs, but I'm disappointed, this camera need a very good light to shoot averages quality pictures like a bright sunny day, forget the indoor shots. Have visible noise above iso 200. The waterproof specs work ok on the pool or the beach but any entry level canon or nikon have better image quality!
