What's the point of a hard-wired remote with a 2 1/2 ft. cable? Obviously not intended for action shots but for shooting with the camera on a tripod. Might as well use the camera's built-in timer function (2 or 10 sec. delay).

I use this for macro, long zoom shots of the moon. I like the ease of hook up and easier yet, to use. The only wish is, is that the wire could be about 3 feet longer
