Way too heavy and thick. Bluescrins have happened. Some keys stick in the keyboard. Unhappy with the purchase =( Big advantage is the fact that it did not have preloaded by HP tons of useless applications and advertisements. Rather stable in work, but blue screens do happen every once in a while... Noisy fans.

I picked up a copy of the HP ENVY 14 2010 model in 2011 not the beats edition and the dual-core Intel core i5 and the discrete graphics performance on the computer is amazing and works fine when playing the latest games even today like call of duty modern warfare 3 it works great and my laptop is more than two years old now and yet both the CPU and also GPU works absolutely amazingly and battery life is great for everyday use and the aluminium material on the chassis looks smart and sophisticated and can easily upgrade the internal components as well. HP has done a great job and I'm glad to have this computer as this is my first notebook yes the system may be costly but worth looking into

I'm currently a freshman in college studying IT where I looked for a great computer for my music, web surfing, and most important, so I can improve my academics to have the best future possible. My family has bought HP's for the last decade so I knew HP was going. I bought this computer because I did my research and found that the Envy was computer of the year last year and I found a great price on it. Since day 1 back in August of 2011 all I have had are problems. 1. 4 blue screens of death 2. crashes at minimum once a week 3. when playing music, it crashes (btw this began before I had internet on the computer so that right there is clearly not a viral problem. It's a hardware problem.) 4. when i close my laptop or it goes into hibernation mode, my internet does not work and i have an X going across my internet on the bottom right screen and my bottom bar turns white...which means i then have to restart my computer AGAIN. (minimum, 5 times a day) and it always pops up with a signal on the bottom right about a not recognized USB... only there is nothing plugged in the computer... 5. (I'm only doing 5 because I don't need to bore everyone with this review and this is the most recent/serious/stressful) SMART hard drive failure Computer of the year? I'm appalled by the functions of this computer when I thought I was getting a great computer. I have to get a PC because of my major and wow with this, I'm buying a Mac still because this would never happen to a Mac user. I'm sure that is why their computers are actually loved by their users. Right now I'm currently freaking out that my 5 page paper I'm working on right now and the other 17 papers I have written in my 4 weeks at school this semester are going to be gone the next time this computer freezes, oh wait this computer did give me the blue screen of death again before I began writing this. Please users if you would like to know more about this $1,000 clunker you are about to buy, please contact me.

So far I am happy with the features of my new Envy laptop. But I just can't get used to the raw unfinished metal edge around the perimeter of the laptop when it is open. You can not avoid being in contact with it while using the computer. I should have waited to see one in the store before I bought one...
