I really love my new HP. It's super fast and I really like the configurable graphics and HP coolsense technology. The only thing i've noticed so far is that when you first turn on the computer it takes a moment for internet explorer to load, but after the first time it loads really fast and goes from site to site quickly. Sometimes the fingerprint reader doesn't recognize my print when i swipe but informs me that i need to use a longer stroke. The HP coolsense technology really works, my sister has a toshiba laptop that gets extremely hot, and my HP pretty much stays cool except when i switch to the radeon graphics to play hidden object games for a few hours, then it only gets really warm. The main problem that i had when the computer was first delivered was that there was a dent on the left side, but i called customer service and asked that they send another next day delivery and they sent it for free, so everything's been great since. I never even use my old desktop anymore, so glad I got this computer, it's awesome.

I may be biased, but I am a HP fan for years. My experience with Mac/Dell was DISMAL! Only HP gave me the product innovation I needed and integration. I went through desktops and laptops, refurbished desktops from HP too when I was in college and on a small budget! The dv7 is perfect for my mobile needs now! I can actually break away from the hospital and still get work done! The processor speeds are beyond my needs in this system and can handle multitasking many patient files and large image files and IT integration! Keep up the good work HP!!!!

i been considering buying this laptop for weeks, reviewing many sites and alot of opinions before making the plunge. I deciding to order it from hp.com and ran into problems here so i ordered it from amazon instead. It arrived quicker than initially expected. that was the only good news, upon starting the device it immediately went to checking disk for consistency, that was weird for a new laptop but i went ahead and waited for over an hour. i decided to remove the battery and try again only for the screen to go blank, and nothing happened. after talking to a tech he came to the conclusion that the bios is corrupted. cant say i'm not really disappointed was looking forward to this thing. hope the replacement does work so i can give a true review, will keep u poted

I have had hp laptops for the last several years. Because I design and digitize embroidery designs with special software, the requirements that I need in a laptop are very specialilzed. This dvt 7 is the ideal choice. It is large but as I don't travel much with it and it basically is only transported from my business to my home the size is not a problem and it is a benefit with the designing of designs for my embroidery business. I was happy that it came with Microsoft office starter installed. I generally only use Word and Excel anyway. The keys are great and also I like that you can turn off the mouse pad when it is not needed. I love that it has 4 usb ports. I also really appreciated the ease in which I could get on the chat and discuss any questions that I had and solve the few problems that I had in understanding some of the features of the dvt 7. I am very happy with this laptop and would recommend it to anyone.

After several comparisons of different laptops it all came down to the HP Pavilion dv7-6c60us being the number one choice. This product comes with so much for it's price. Love the HP SimplePass fingerprint reader. It's just so convenient. And the AMD Radeon HD 7470M graphics cards allows me to play the pc games I love. The 17.3" screen is not to big and too small, just right. And it comes with a blue-ray player! It doesn't get better than that. The only problem I've had with it so far is it would sometimes get a blue screen when I unlock windows with the fingerprint reader, after waking it up from an automatic sleep. But works fine by manually entering the password. I'm still looking into how to fix this. Hopefully HP will find a solution. Overall this is a great HP product!

I purchased the product to run a flight simulator. I am a new R/C pilot, and I needed the graphics to learn how to take off and land. The graphics on this machine are great, and I look forward to working with it a few hours a day. Learning on a flight simulator before taking a new model to the air helps save money, as early training keeps you from bringing home a pile of broken sticks and foam each time you go out!

I've had this laptop for about two weeks now, and i have to say i am very impressed with this machine. i bought the quick ship model (dv7-6c60us) and only took 4 days to get here, i live in long island, ny. perfomace on this laptop is amazing, as it should be running a intel i5 processor, 6gigs of dedicated memory as well as a gig of dedicated graphic memory. this machine starts up and shuts down in seconds, browsing the web has never been this enjoyable, as it opens an loads web pages in .15-.22 seconds. i really like the fingerprint reader, you can log on the computer with swipe of your finger and use it as shortcuts. so when you swipe your finger you can use it to open web pages, music player etc... keep in mind even if this is considered a high performance laptop, its not a gaming laptop, so you wouldn't be able to run games like skyrim or ww3 at high res.

This computer does so much at such a small price. The i5 in this thing is amazing, if you didnt know better by its name, id tell you it was an i7. Best picture quality, amazing Graphics. In total, Best buy of the year so far. --Cons-- None --Recomended upgrade-- Ram, for no reason... and ddr5 for the Graphics card... then a SSD Drive.

This is the second HP Pavilion laptop in the family. My better half bought a dv7-4177 last year and she loves it. I compare this dv7-6c60us to the Dell I use at work and there is no comparison. This HP is a clear winner. I bought this laptop directly from HP online and even that experience was simple. I tried Best Buy first and couldn't get anyone interested in selling me this model. On well, their loss!

The Pavilion dv7 is a great machine. Performance is excellect and the 17.3" screen is bright and crisp. Colors are vivid and true. Startup went quickly and smoothly. A complete manual was available on line to answer questions. With 6GBs of ram, it runs a CAD application without hesitation. It needs dedicated CD burner software. Ordered it by phone. The process was as good as it gets. Delivery was quicker than expected.

I ordered this laptop on Feb the 7th, it arrived on Feb 9th, I was highly impressed with the speed of delivery. Now as far as the computer itself. Stunning, the design is simplistic and just beautiful. The pictures online do not even begin to do it justice. Screen colors and graphics are gorgeous. it is quiet as a mouse when running. The battery life is unbelievable I can unplug and not even waste 10% of my battery after 2 or 3 hours. The only thing I'm not in love with is the touch pad. The scroll ability is tricky to do. That's not a deal breaker for me though. I have a wireless mouse that I prefer to use anyway. Don't discount this laptop on my complaint of the touch pad that is trivial and not really important. The speaker system sounds great crisp and clear sound. Programs and everything load super fast. The keyboard keys are surprisingly quiet. I like that. I'm a college student and am up late sometimes working on papers. I hate keyboards that are so loud it almost seems like you are typing on a old fashion typewriter. I feel like I made an excellent purchase no disappointments here.

I've only had this laptop for about 2weeks and the intergrated cyberlink youcam doesn't work, updates keep failing, and know on today I notice that the intergrated microphone isn't working either. I did an online chat with tech support she provided me with some links to try to fix my issues but of course nothing work. At this point I'm ready to return it.

I only trust HP brands after having problems with other computer brands. This computer is extremely quick when it starts up. There is also a great amount of space. The fingerprint program is great as well. I'm never getting another computer unless it is HP. It's a bit heavy, but I think it's a good think. The look and style is great as well making it a slick and beautiful laptop. The audio rocks! It isn't like other laptops that have such a weak sound. This one will play movies and music with great volume and sound. The keyboard is also wonderful because they are spaced out a little which makes my hand a little more relaxed than being bunched up and I already have small hands. The ease to set up the computer is good too. There is nothing bad about this laptop at all!!!

Great price (bought the pre-configured set up) and fast FREE shipping. This laptop is very well constructed- the aluminum is easy to clean and is very durable. Very fast processor and 6GB memory- it plays WOW and other online games perfectly. Love the 17 inch screen- Blu-Ray movies look fantastic. Very fast response time from sleep mode to getting online. The 9 cell battery also acts as a stand (puts the laptop on a slight angle for easier typing). I would highly recommend this product.
