I wanted a computer that was "ready to ship" instead of waiting for the built for me version. I am not disappointed this machine has everything one would want in a laptop computer. The processor is very fast and computer boots up quickly. Connecting to my home wireless network couldn't have been easier...a snap. AND it runs cooler than my previous HP computers. A big plus when sitting with computer in lap. The touch pad is very much improved from my dv6 computer. I am happy with all the added features and software. I use my computer all throughout the day and it is powered on almost 24/7. It does power itself down when not being used. Oh and the new sound system is very good for a laptop computer. thanks HP I own 4 HP laptops presently.....I just gave a 5th machine away to a needy person.....a Pavilion XP machine which was still running great. I am just over joyed with this model of HP laptop. I almost forgot.....I tested the battery time.....machine ran for about 5 hours!

I own a very powerful hp desktop that I am so very satisfied with. This laptop is almost as powerful at 1/2 the price I would have paid. Love it.

This unit was an upgrade from my HP G60-120US and has more than satisfied my requirements. The system has the Intel Core i7-2670QM Processor 2.20GHz, 8GB RAM, Blu-ray player and SuperMulti DVD burner, 802.11b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth, 750GB 5400RPM hard drive. The processor speed is fast and efficient, making the boot-up/login process a breeze. And opening applications and connecting to the internet is a snap. Have not yet used the Blu-ray drive, but expect it to meet and even exceed expectations. This laptop provides a lot of bang for the the special price of $810. Highly recommend this computer to those who have the money for this upgrade, even if the $810 price is no longer available..

I purchased this laptop about three weeks ago and have been more than pleased ever since. This laptop is fast, has a ton of memory and a large screen. It does everything that is supposed and more! I looked at a lot of laptops and this, by far, is the best in terms of price for the hardware.

This machine is a steal for the price, its very rich looking, great layout and beautiful feel...very solid! My one problem, is the some what low resolution for sor such a feature enriched laptop. Its very annoying to watch any kind of video's on youtube or any other site..this low resolution is always in the front of my mind, its disrupts any movie enjoyment. But this problem isn't exclusive to just this model. HP more expencive laptops have this issue too! until u get to a much more pricey machine.I wish I would have know that i can;t change the graphic card..which is part of the intel 3000 graphics.I love everything about this machine, including the top notch customer support...but without the visual resulotion ..what good are all the features this machine offers.Every day I consider retuning my laptop...its just so frustating!

This machine has tywo types of USB ports. One kind wouild not accept my plug- ins and would not go past the initial start-up screen when my printers etc were plugged in. Because of this, I returned it and one other before I found this oddity. I just wonder if anyone else has had the same experience. The help person had no idea how to fix it and suggested that I return the computer. I now have two HP laptop computers and they work fine as long as I use the right sided USB ports for plug-ins,

Like another reviewer mentioned, this laptop is a desktop in disguise and is a little beast that should not be underestimated. I had a custom HP Pavilion i5 that was a little over a year old and my ex took it with her in the divorce. I needed a replacement and had never owned a laptop before but this does everything my desktop did, only faster. The major thing I noticed was better video streaming, even though I had the top of the line video card in my desktop. I'm receiving a wireless connection from my in-laws, who are across the street and around 1000' away. If I have to pick out a negative, it would be with the speakers. Just like every laptop, they are limited by their size and are acceptable but nothing special. The screen is a great size, well lit, etc. Something I didn't really consider before buying was the keyboard. This is kind of a hybrid between a normal keyboard and a "flat" laptop style that most have; the keys are raised about 1/8" up. I added speakers and an external DVD drive to save the blu-ray drive for movies only. I've had this beast a few weeks and am very happy overall !

This laptop is at the medium end, with I7 processor, 750GB, and 8GB RAM. Very efficient, the only reason I didn't give all 5 stars is because sometimes internet is sluggish, not sure if it's the websites I visit. But the laptop is very well built, and can handle open processes at the same time. I own 3 HP laptops, and I love them, I will only buy HPs in the future. They have great customer service, either through chat, email, or phone call.

This is a wonderful machine that is really a desktop disguised as a laptop. The 17" screen is high resolution and I'm able to do graphics work and have multiple screens open. The keyboard is one of the best laptop keyboards I've experienced. Having more real-estate means a 10-key numeric keypad that comes in very handy. I do struggle with the touchpad and sometimes the cursor can jump to unexpected places on the screen if my palm hits it while I'm typing or even using the touchpad. Sometimes it seems it has a mind of its own. It's more of a headache than I thought it would be to have all of the outlets on the right or left side from the USB ports to the power connector. I'm right handed so I have to deal with the USB connection to the mouse sticking out of the right side where the mouse is, so I've had to get used to cables between the mouse and the laptop. I guess I'll go to a bluetooth mouse. The audio is good, but does not knock me off my feet. The last thing is I didn't really realize just how big a 17" screen and how heavy 6 pounds is. I had to get a new bag and I have to be careful that when swinging the bag, it doesn't get too much momentum or it could really become a projectile. On top of all that, I really like this. It's a powerhouse machine that does everything I want and like anything new, I just have to adjust. I compared this with similar ones from other manufacturers and couldn't come near it's value (bang for the buck) and I've always had great experiences with HP stuff. I'm glad they stayed in the PC business.

I have been an HP girl for many years (5), and this computer is no exception to the great quality I have grown accustomed to from HP. I will always be a HP customer, and I would recommend their products to anyone in the "tech" world. Love!

I love the dv7-6c80us. The best part for me is the battery is long lasting. The setup was very easy. The screen is fantastic.

We ran into a big unsolvable problem printing. According to your HP technical support, HP has not been able to develop a driver that will allow this HP laptop when equipped with 64 bit Windows 7 connected to a home network, to print, on the home network connected HP 3015 Printer. Very disappointing. I am going to have to buy a new printer.

Well I've had my old desktop HP computer for many years (about 8) and it was starting to make me angry when I was using it. Was a good computer but things were starting to go wrong. I knew I wanted to replace it with a notebook so I started looking. Also got advice from a computer geek friend of mine. Glad I did too. He talked me into a quad processor and so far that was a good move. Although I've only had this for a few days I couldn't be happier with my decision. Thank goodness too because it has all the options I wanted but you never know buying on the internet if you'll like it or not. Just look at the spec sheet for this model and everything works great. If the specs suit you, buy it!!
