I love the convenience of the larger size cartridges and the ease and speed of ordering my ink from HP when needed. The price was very competitive too. I previously bought combo packs but found some went out of date before used or used up. This way I can get what I need when I need it without a trip to the store.

This review is mainly about the printer that uses the ink rather than the ink itself, although ALL of the HP ink has a short shelf life. I have two HP printers, so use the HP C7280 mainly for copying and Faxing, mostly in black and white. This printer has six color ink cartridges which require relatively expensive ink that is dated and subject to error messages when the date is exceeded, which interfere with the printer operation for other functions (removing and expired cartridge causes other problems.) Worst of all, these messages are sent serially for each cartridge, so that replacing one simply causes the problem to start all over, such that the best solution is geared to replacing all expensive cartridges at once (which was probably what HP had in mind to sell more ink.) I think I will replace the printer with another brand instead.

Have lost printer functionality since installing new cartridge. Printer continues to register that there is an empty cartridge even though this is brand new and doesn't expire for 2 years.

After upgrading replacement carts to XL status, I noticed a big difference with the result. With the same frequency of everyday use, the cartridges do last alot longer. It is definitely worth the extra money for the XL upgrade for all available carts.

The printer ink cartridge is totally a success. I use only HP ink cartridges in my HP printer/scanner. The speed in receiving any resupply needed makes keeping a large inventory unnecessary.

Bought the XL Magenta & XL Cyan cartridges. Not sure if the magenta worked because the XL Cyan emptied all the ink inside the printer. Which bleed into all the other printer slots, eventually only printing in black/blue ink. No longer would print color. Owned printer for over 6 years, taken good care of. I only tried to take advantage of the XL size this first time, and had to go buy a new printer because of this.

I always use HP printer ever since I got a bumpy deal from Lexmark.. It is much better to buy a slightly expensive a-i-o printer, as long as the ink cartridges are individually colored. This way, I will only replaced the empty cartridge, which comes out more economical in the long run. Also a good idea to always buy in XL cartridges if they are available. Good product.
