Worst Printer I have ever owned

I will never buy HP products ever again. I constantly have connection issues. I can't print any ink except HP certified inks, which are 3-4 times more expensive. They don't allow you to even refill their ink cartridges, so it's a totally unsustainable wasteful company. It also has poor print quality, if I can get it to print at all. It gets blurry. As I type this bad review, the screen goes crazy and gets jumpy. Would this happen if it wasn't a one star review? I doubt it.

Worn Out in only 15 or 20K copies

Worked just great for a couple years, but now sounds like every bearing in it is trying to bind up. Squeals, grinds and groans. Can't locate anyone to look at it or service it.

Worst Printer I have Ever Owned!

This printer has been terrible since the first day I got it. 90% of the time when I go to print something I receive a printer error telling me there is a paper jam... and every single time I check there is no paper jam. Totally a huge waste of time and makes productivity suffer. Updating the fireware does not help as support suggested. I also contacted support for assistance - and even though I could give them my serial number they needed me to have a copy of my receipt to make sure it was still in warranty. In this electronic age I am pretty sure it is easy to pull up that info on their end too! Bad product and terrible customer service. I will never purchase another HP product.

Nice Machine

Got this printer to replace many inkjets that have failed and haunted my past printing projects. The quality is amazing and so far the colors are hanging in there after 20+ full color pages. The wireless setup was easy and the extra features like emailing-to-print are awesome, even though I haven't used them for real yet. But being able to print by emailing a document from anywhere to the printer is really neat. You shouldn't be disappointed with this machine, especially if you're moving to laser from inkjet.

The best printer I ever had.

I love this printer! Before I purchased my HP LaserJet Pro, I had a laser printer made by one of the top names in printers. It was a disaster! It constantly lost my wi fy connection. I had to turn it off, then turn it back on and was lucky if I got the connection back again. The HP never loses its connection, and when it rarely does, I don't have to do anything because it always finds it. The print quality is excellent. It's fast and efficient. I've given it five stars, but it's worth more. I highly recommend it. Thank you HP.

great printer

I love this printer but I have to admit, for it to lack so much in the feature department, that sucker is heavy

Wonderful, high-quality printing

I was excited when I first bought this printer, and I must say that I'm not disappointed. Most of the time, my print jobs favor quality over either quantity or speed. So, for the money and the space, I think this is a wonderful printer. My only little hangup was that I was under the impression that I could link my wireless devices to it, which so far I have not been able to do. The menu system was definitely frustrating in this regard. But other than that slight hitch, the color is great, the sharpness is great, and I'm a big fan of the MF tray.

Bang For Your Buck

I love my printer. Although it runs kinda slow imo, the quality of the printed work is top notch. Shipping and delivery was SUPER fast as well. The eprint was easy to set up from my phone and the printer itself is pretty user friendly. I highly rrecommend this printer.

Best printer ever owned. Wanted a toner printer.

My Pro 200 M251mw has the most crisp printing I have ever seen, does a superb job on photos. Couldn't ask for more. I always wanted a toner printer and finally got one. It's really great that the associated computer doesn't have to be on to print from other computers on my network, as it has its' own Cat 5 cable. Just WOW !

Another reliable HP printer

I've owned several HP printers over past 20 yrs. I really like this color laser printer. Excellent quality, easy to connect to wireless or with usb and has very good features. My family uses it for homework, Bible studies, work, etc. Great to print from iphones, ipad, laptop, etc. You'll love it!

Has promise but very noisy

Generally speaking I like the printer but it is really noisy. And it randomly turns on and "Calibrates". It's very distracting when you're sitting there in a meeting and all of the sudden it starts up surprising me and any others in the room. It runs for a solid minute then shuts down.

Great color copies

This laser printer is affordable and does a great job on both black and white and color. I use it for text and for printing color pictures on card stock and I am very pleased with the deep color saturation on the card stock and the crisp black and white printing. I would say that we are a family of heavier use printing needs, and this laser printer has saved us on the cost of ink, since the toner lasts longer and we get more copies for our dollar. Try it, I think you will like it!

Great printer for a home network with limitations

Purchased this printer to replace an older color printer because it allowed me to print from my iPad over my home network and from my desktop and laptop computers as well. Color is outstanding. It will do front and back side printing; however, this is cumbersome as you have to re-insert the paper in the paper tray to print the front side on the backside. The only drawback is this front and backside printing is not done automatically by flipping the pages inside the printer, a bummer.

Owned 10 HP printers. This is the worst.

I have owned ten HP printers over the last 25 years, including the original Inkjet. This one is the worst. It prints decent color. That is it. It weighs 40 pounds and needs to be plugged into the computer via USB for setup, so be careful where you put it. It is unbelievably noisy. It clicks, thumps and whirrs like a small factory. It will start up with a "calibration" at some time after you turn it on. I was on a speaker phone call once when it started up. I had to switch to the receiver and put my hand over the mouthpiece. This "calibration" goes on for a minute or two. It does not seem to calibrate anything. I wanted to just lighten up the prints a bit, but to do so requires adjusting each color, individually, then trying again and again. There is no control for just making the image a little lighter. The software starts reminding you your toner is running out long before it runs out. I was able to print more than 200 pages after the first warning. (200 pages is more than the paper tray holds.) When you finally need toner, a set of four costs more than the printer. I have never used compatible toner before, but I am now. It does do AirPrint . . . very slowly. It has no envelope feed.

Superb Printer

This is my color printer. I have a 1606 that I use for black printing. The color print quality is really impressive. Considering I paid $179.00, (memorial day sale) for a color laser printer, you cant beat that. It doesnt have auto-both sides of the page printing like my p1606, but you can do it manually. I highly recommend this printer.

My Go-to Printer

Easy set-up with my iMac, no problems. Best feature: none of my 3 currently-in-use printers beats this one in the time it takes to turn it on and have it ready to go. It doesn't dance around and make noise, it just lights up and is eager to print. I love that. The printout is crisp, and it handles various paper weights well. I'm an artist and am a little hard on my printers in this regard! Being a replacement (for the time being) for my big, office-size laser printer, this compact model lacks the memory capacity (will occasionally give a memory message when the file is too large) of a big machine. Data transfer with my set-up seems a little slow, otherwise I'd give this machine 5 stars. I haven't needed to buy more toner yet, so that, I'm sure, will be painful. But the starter cartridges are holding out well considering how much I use this convenient fellow.

Mail options?

Set up and operation was a breeze, photos printed from an iPhone has size issues, other than that, the thing that irked me the most was the mailing option- I chose two business day FedEx express, it arrived on the 3rd business day. The price of replacement ink I found is ultra expensive.

Perfect in size and great color prints

So, I bought this from the HP Store Thursday. It arrived today (Saturday) Incredible fast shipping. I was not expecting it until next week. It is to replace my 4500 workhorse. I love that old, EXPENSIVE printer. This M251 is simply incredible. Within 15 minutes, I was unpacked and printing a test page. Then stuck the cd I for wireless connectivity. Another few minutes I was printing. Fantastic color. I rely on accuracy in color.. In a word, excellent printer for me, excellent FREE shipping, good deal on the toners when purchased with the printer. Get them if you can. Yes, they are expensive. You can find some cheapies on Ebay but I have never used nothing but HP Toner. I'm happy.

Great Product

This printer does everything I need it to do. It prints in color, wireless, and on demand. I have only had it up and going for a month now but so far so good. I also use this same model in a couple places in the workforce and have not had a problem in the year they have been on the floor. Toner is costly but considering my usage, I don't look at buying toner more than once a year, making it a good buy. But I have the luxury of color capability in a laserjet printer when I need it. Otherwise to conserve, I can print in grey scale or black and white. Again, this unit is wireless so I have it set up in an area neutral for all those in the house that need to access it. Considering this is a unit produced for primarily for business use, hopefully HP will continue to make toner cartridges for it later down the road. Hopefully I can get years of service out of it.

Solid Color Laser Value Priced

The HP LaserJet Pro 200 is a solid wireless laser printer. Pros: 1) Excellent quality printouts 2) Fast printouts--14 ppm 3) Easy wireless setup 4) Great 3-1/2" touchscreen Cons: 1) Does not do automatic duplex (double sided). (Other HP printers at this price point do duplex!) 2) Slow printouts when copying Internet pages (Nearly 1-1/2 minutes for first page.) 3) Starter toners only do about 800 pages Overall the HP LaserJet Pro 200 is a great printer providing you do not need duplex printing or need fast speeds for Internet printouts. It's a solid printer that does a great job.

Almost All I could Want, and Even More I Don't

This is my first Laser Printer EVER (and a Color Laser Printer at that!) after 17 years of computing with Inkjet Printers. (I still have one and intend to keep using it.) The only thing I could desire that this printer doesn't have is Duplex Printing, but the way HP designed it Manual Duplex Printing couldn't be any easier -- plus the Driver Software has a feature enabling manual duplex printing of multipage documents easily. I also like the compact size and shape. It looks a bit lightweight for business purposes, but for my occasional use it couldn't be better. I have just about no use for other attractive features like Wireless Printing, Network-Enabled Printing or Web Printing (a simple USB connection is fine for me), but the reader might find them far more desirable. The color touchscreen is pretty and replaces a lot of controls (although the touchscreen is finicky), but I prefer an elaborate display on my monitor allowing precise and detailed control from my computer. The front-panel USB port for walk-up printing is designed to accept a thumb drive and will probably not recognize your camera or even a flash-card reader just because it has a USB connection, so unless you want to transcribe your printing to a thumb drive you may not want to use this port any more than I will; I prefer the control my computer gives me over my output anyway. But a full-page print of a 16MP digital photo comes out looking magazine-ready, even on plain paper, and that's what counts with me. This printer installed its own driver software as soon as I plugged it in and booted up. The included CDROM proved completely unneeded. That's a first for me, though it's probably the Way of the Future.

Very Satisfied

My old HP laser color printer finally got pretty sick after 7 years, so I decided to replace it rather than have it repaired. It was due for three new toner cartridges; hence not buying them almost paid for the Pro 200. I immediately set about printing 150 Christmas cards with lots of color, and it did a rapid, great job, Very pleased

Excellent Quality/MAC Setup A Bit WTricky

The output quality is excellent. Black and white and color Text is crisp/graphics look amazing on regular paper. When setting up a MAC/Apple I installed the driver but it told me it was not installed properly. Had to call support and they informed me to turn off WIFI, restart the IPAD, and it should show it as properly installed. Did as instructed and it was installed correctly. A bit of a quirky install for MAC. HP should make note of this in the install instructions. WIFI works great.
