This printer is used for municipal business and it is used constantly by two of us here. We take turns using it we use it that often. It is definitely put through it's paces and has shown to be a great printer. We had the same one prior to this one; we wore the other one out so went back with the same machine because of it's reliability.

I have purchased 20 plus P4015 for heavy printing department and most units have one issue or another with the mechanical operations. Examples are the trays where small parts break easily rendering the tray useless, gears grinding, and paper jamming on a regular basis. Granted the demands on these printers are high (the 4250 is robust printer) but for the cost the reliablity is not there.

This is an excellent printer for heavy printing use. It is reliable, fast, and very cost effective. The only issue is that the direct feed used for letterhead printing does not pick up on the first try once the printer is in sleep mode. It will feed from the document tray and you will need to reprint to get it from the direct paper feed. It is inconvenient at times, but not a constant problem and the pros of this machine definately outweigh the con.

On the positive: It's fast and has a 24K cartridge available for a decent price. On the downside: This unit is a step down from the 42xx or 43xx series. The unit feels cheaply made with lighter plastic and metals. If it's not sitting on a perfect surface the bottom warps and the drawer will not open or close right. It's also about 3 times louder! They must have saved money by doing away with the sound insulation and it sounds like it's about to fly apart! Do youself a favor and fix up that old 42xx or 43xx! Summary: The weak links in the drive chain have not shown themselves yet. Hopefully it's not a disaster like the 24xx or 3005.
