This is the paper to start with, and probably to continue with

Ilford Multigrade IV RC paper is a wonderful paper. The multigrade filter system is great for getting the exact contrast you want, and the resin coating makes it easy to wash and dry your prints. Great stuff.

Go-to paper of choice

Terrific paper for general printing, especially on those days when you are playing photo-mat for the family and just need to knock out a bunch of high quality prints. Fast and easy to use. Handles a decently exposed negative without filtration.

Ilford Multi-Grade papers have been my papers of choice for nearly 20 years and they have never let me down. I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone starting out in photography. Here's to another 20+ years in the dark!

About Ilford IV RC Deluxe Resin B/W Paper 5x7in, 250, Glossy

ILFORD MULTIGRADE IV RC DeLuxe and ILFORD MULTIGRADE IV RC Portfolio are premium quality variable contrast papers. MULTIGRADE IV RC has a bright base tint. The image colour remains cool-to-neutral whether viewed in daylight or fluorescent light.

MULTIGRADE IV RC is part of the ILFORD MULTIGRADE system and is fully compatible with all existing MULTIGRADE filters and equipment. It is equally suitable for printing from conventional negatives and from XP2 SUPER negatives.

MULTIGRADE IV RC DeLuxe has the standard weight (190g/m 2 ) resin coated base. It is available in three surfaces: 1M glossy, 25M satin and 44M pearl.
