Took the Plunge
I was ready to move up from a point and shoot but had concerns about the price/features on this one. My professional photographer friend said this camera would last me at least 10 years and would be good for a newbie like me. After reviewing the Nikon 5200, Canon 60D and the Rebel 5T(or whatever its called) I followed my friends advice. I've got large hands (the Nikon 5200 grip was too small for me) and this camera fits great for me. The weight isnt too bad but definitely more noticable tha...View full Review

I returned mine
Sharp photos when autofocus is functioning correctly, much more limited in lower light conditions as compared to my d7000. Using 17-55 2.8 Nikon, SB 700 flash. AWB intermittendtly inaccurate in indoor lighting compared to D7000. Greenish yellowish tint on preview display totally inaccurate color rendering vs. Macbook Pro uploaded photo display. Unless you're post processing all raw photos, jpeg rendering very inaccurate with new Toshiba sensor compared to much warmer and natural tones pro...View full Review

We replaced a D70 with this body and it's been a very nice upgrade. One of the reasons we chose this is because it will work well with most if not all the autofocus Nikon lenses and we have several. Obviously we didn't need a lens so the body only was the way to go. At the price with the additional freebees it was the best value package we could find after extensive research. Very happy with the camera and the service from Adorma.
Excellent price and a fine camera. Very knowledgeable staff
Great camera body. Has a lot of bells and whistles. I currently use it with my 10-24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 18-300mm lens. I also use an IR remote from Nikon and a Manfrotto tripod. It fits great too in my camera bag from Brenthaven. Anyway - sorry this review doesn't tell you much - but if you are wanting to move into a more semi-pro area for cameras - this is a goodie...I think. If you simply want a light-weight do everything camera - you may want to go with a Sony Mark IV or V. I originally got this camera for doing nature shots and to take on backpacking hikes. Not a bad option - but for light-weight - point and shoot is best.
I purchased this camera body after using a D3200 and Nikon 1. I've taken over 25,000 exposures with the camera and I'm pleased with the results. The D7200 addresses the only shortcoming of the camera, which is the small buffer size when taking photos. All in all, I'm very pleased with this camera.
Have had the D7100 for about a year now, where I mostly use it with a telephoto for bird photography. Very pleased with it.
We upgraded from the D40 ( yes we had the camera for MANY years). We stayed with this brand because we were always happy with the quality and the lenses we had bought over the years, would still be useable. What a great upgrade. The pictures are absolutely crisp. The sound with the built in mic is very good even in a big room. We are still trying out all the buttons and settings. But very happy so far and don't expect to be disappointed.
The Nikon 7100 has met my expectations and then some! Note: My expectations were pretty high since I had researched it for quite some time, and I have 5, D7000's I have had excellent service from! The only negative I have found is that for a brand new camera, it has the most dirty sensor I can remember! Lucky for me, I have learned how to clean sensors! Overall, I think this camera more than meets my needs and if it is as reliable as the D7000's I shall be happy with it for quite awhile!
Love the camera, take awesome pictures and is very easy to use.
I'm a Nikon aficionado and stick with Nikon cameras and lenses for their value and reliability. My preference is a system approach based upon a Nikon equipment foundation. I prefer to stay with the DX line of camera bodies and DX lenses. The D7100 is a good value and a great camera for the money. Along with my body purchase, I bought the MD-D15 battery pack/grip and spare batteries. In my opinion, the battery pack helps balance the camera while doubling the power capacity. Today, I recommended this camera body to a friend and buying from Adorama Forensic Group.
Although it is the latest model it is loaded with features. It is a good camera at the right pricr. I highly recommend it.
