I thought I would never use anything other than SLRs because of their quality and versatility when on the road. I travel corrected. The combination of my Nikon Coolpix p7100 and wide angle lens converter is an excellent light weight and compact substitute with almost DSLR quality. The converter produces much sharper images than one might expect. Distortion is minimal and edge sharpness is acceptable.

This is a great addition to the Nikon compact camera. I have a wide angle adapter for both my P5100 and my P7000. The only con is that it can interfere with the on-board flash spread when used in closer shots. The solution to this is to use a hot shoe mounted flash that shoots over the lens.
