The Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 is our second full frame cine lens, ready to capture images in 8K UHD resolution.
Its extremely short focal length, rectilinear image projection and large image circle of 43.3mm (covering the full frame format) make it one of the most outstanding cine lenses on the market. Depending on the diagonal of the sensor, this lens can provide a moderate wide angle of view for classic wide-angle shots or a super-panoramic 123 Degree viewing angle in a 2.39:1 widescreen format.
The Irix 11mm T4.3 provides a perspective that was not available in film optics, until now.

Proven Optics
The Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 is our second lens in a new line of full frame sensor cine lenses, ready for 8K UHD.
The lens' optical system is based on a new optical formula, which we developed especially for cinematic purposes. It consists of 16 optical elements, of which four are made with high refractive index (HR) glass, three others have aspherical surfaces and the last two are made with low-dispersion glass (ED). The use of a large front lens and other special glass elements provide crisp cinematic shots in a resolution up to 8K while keeping the "focus breathing" effect at a minimum. The lens offers a large maximum T number of 4.3 which can be reduced to T22, thanks to the rounded shape of iris blades
When designing the lens' mechanical system, we used newly developed technical solutions that have been successfully implemented in our first cine lens, the Irix Cine 150mm T3.0.
The new Multi Start Thread focusing mechanism allows quiet and precise focusing even under adverse weather conditions such as rain, humidity or extreme temperatures. The focusing geared ring rotates 180 degrees and depending on the lens version, has a focusing scale with metric or imperial units.
Thanks to another innovative solution like the adaptive ring, the Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 can be used both by hand and with a follow focus. Moreover, eventhough the lens has a very short optical system layout, the geared focus and aperture rings have been placed at the same height as in the rest of the Irix Cine lenses - all for better ergonomics and more intuitive use.
Refined Mechanics
In the eyes of a camera operator, a good and tough housing is of major importance. Irix is known for fine mechanical constructions, and in the Cine range we pushed this even further, focussing on superb operation ergonomics and a high precision mechanism.
Quiet and smooth rotation of the focus ring was achieved thanks to the new MST lens positioning system - created specially for the Irix Cine range.
The Multi Start Thread mechanism, in combination with a sealed housing, ensures durable and long-term operation of the lens in various atmospheric conditions even in the most demanding situations. The rotation angle of the focus ring is increased to 180 degrees, which makes focusing easy and accurate at any range.
Unique Design and Well Thought-Out Ergonomics
The side edges of the focus gear-rings are shielded by a special adaptive ring, providing a larger area for better manual handling - whilst still compatible with follow-focus systems.
The adaptive ring is an innovative solution that provides compatibility with follow focus gear rings of various width, while preserving the convenience of manual focus ring operation. For more ease of setting the follow focus mechanism, the adaptive ring turns at the full angle with a steps of 15 degrees.
The markings on the lens are laser engraved and treated with UV fluorescent paint, to improve the readability in low light conditions.
Prepared for all Weather Conditions
The Irix Cine 11 mm T4.3 has been designed as a versatile tool in the hands of a filmmaker, built to withstand various weather conditions.
The housing is equipped with several seals to create a barrier for dust, rain and accidental splashes of water. The sealed construction ensures the safety of both the optical lens system and the camera sensor.
Created to be Part of the Cine Gear Family
Making innovations doesn't mean we resign from the industry standards. We know how important compatibility is for a filmmaker, with other accessories.
Irix Cine lenses have standardized front diameter 95mm for matte box, unified distance between gear-rings within the whole family range (future developments), standardized 0,8 pitch module gears, unified angles of rotation, and similar weight.
The Irix Cine 11mm T4.3 lens is equipped with a removable support foot with a 1/4 thread, which stabilizes the lens when using a follow focus system, and protects the camera mount. The support foot can be attached on the bottom or top of the lens for convenience of use.
