The Lenovo ThinkPad x220 12.5" LED Notebook PC is designed for business professionals and students. It features a spill-resistant, 7-row, 89-key keyboard complete with ThinkVantage button, UltraNav mouse touchpad, TrackPoint pointing device with Internet scroll bar and ThinkLight keyboard illumination system. The 12.5" anti-glare TFT color LCD display features a 1366 x 768 native resolution, LED backlight and 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Plus, with Intel HD Graphics 3000 and a Genuine Windows 7 Professional (Upgradeable to Win 8 Professional at $14.99) operating system, the x220 is both visually stunning and user-friendly.
Since the x220 is designed for effective multitasking and real-world business applications, Lenovo has equipped it with an Intel Core i5-2450M dual-core processor capable of 2.5 GHz processing speeds. The CPU also features Intel Turbo Boost 2.0, which boosts the processing speed up to 3.1 GHz when needed. The notebook is also outfitted with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM memory and a 320 GB SATA 3 Gbps hard disk drive (HDD). The HDD is built for durability and toughness. It features an Active Protection System and is shock-mounted for added safety. With this much vertical memory, a road tested hard drive and an Intel Core processor, the x220 is sure to be a portable and reliable multitasking monster.
Accoutered with several wireless and wired connectivity options, the x220 is as flexible as it is powerful. For Internet and network connections, it features a WLAN 802.11 b/g/n wireless Wi-Fi connection, as well as a Gigabit Ethernet (RJ-45) port. It's even WWAN upgradeable with an optional WWAN PCIe card (sold separately). For wireless data transfer and peripheral device connectivity, the x220 supports Bluetooth 3.0 + HS technology. This allows you to transfer data and connect a mouse, printer, etc. all wirelessly. For wired connectivity, the x220 boasts three USB 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort for external monitor connection.
Some of x220's other highlights and features include an HD 720p web camera, fingerprint reader and the ThinkPad Ultrabase Series 3 option (sold separately) with an optional optical drive (optical drive not included). The web camera features a wide viewing angle, low light sensitivity, fixed focus and high-definition 720p video capture. The UPEK fingerprint reader is equipped with a swipe sensor, power on authentication and an LED indicator. It also supports the notebook's TPM security chip. The optional ThinkPad Ultrabase Series 3 (sold separately) supports an optical drive and it's designed for desktop expansion, cable management and enhancing the notebook's overall flexibility.
