Decided on the Kirk for its single piece design. Felt like the RRS L-plate might not be as stable. Using on a 5DSR with good fit. Solid.Happy with the purchase.

Love this, perfect fit for Canon 5D Mark III with BG-E11. Can switch from horizontal to vertical on a tripod with no changes to the set up. Bit bulky for street photography but my primary photography is Architectural, Wildlife, Portrait or Landscape. I use Capture Pro with this to move around and there is not issues.

I hesitated for a long time on buying an L-plate because of the expense. In the end I am glad I did it. Having a custom fit L-Plate is much better than a generic. Kirk has done a great job getting this to fit. I do wish the gap around the cable ports on the left side was a bit wider to open the weather seals but it's not a huge issue. This L-Plate makes it very easy to switch camera orientation without having to realign my tripod and the extra frame doesn't hurt in protecting my camera. I'm glad I spent the money and I'd do it again for this. I'm also glad I went for the Kirk brand to be Arca-Swiss compatible with a lot of other tripods.
