This allows for a camera with even a large telephoto lens attached to it to be literally controlled with one finger. It provides you with smooth gliding control and allows you to adjust the lens through an infinite range of motion without locking and unlocking the head.

This gimbal design allows the camera to be side mounted rather than to be placed on top of a ball head. This is especially useful for larger telephoto lenses or spotting scopes. This way the lens can rotate around its center of gravity, dramatically improving handling and vibration dampening.
