For my uses size is an issue. The smaller the better and for 10x25mm these are are very bright, clear and contrasty. They work so well with glasses that I usually will keep my polarized sunglasses on and enjoy the benefits of polarization. (This is a really great feature)I do use special care since the front glass is very close to the end of the barrel and the came only with caps for the rear glass.

For adventurous individuals who are always looking for something new to discover, nature is their realm of constant challenges. They set out to search for unforgettable impressions and images. It is for these individuals that Leica develops binoculars and spotting scopes, optical instruments that embody the full technological know-how of the brand.
Many outstanding Leica binoculars based on this premise have already been created, but now, Leica has succeeded in establishing an entirely new category : The line of Ultravid binoculars. Logically tailored to the intended use, every technical and ergonomic detail was painstakingly examined, perfected or completely reinvented.
A housing made of magnesium, a central hinge shaft of extremely sturdy titanium which materials could possibly be more robust and lighter at the same time The optical system Leica HLS which optics could be more brilliant The new shape with its outstanding ergonomics what could possibly be more pleasant to use It is the sum of all these qualities that qualify every Ultravid as a binocular for individuals with the highest demands.
LEICA ULTRAVID BL: The classics catch up with modernity : With their high-grade leather covering, the LEICA ULTRAVID BL models look particularly elegant and extremely compact. The are deliberately remindful of the binoculars and cameras that made the name Leica famous around the world. They weigh less thsn 700 g/ 25 oz making them (42mm) the choice of true purists. The housings of LEICA ULTRAVID BR models are equipped with shock-absorbing rubber armoring that protects them from damage. The handy armoring also eliminates slippery handling and the ergonomic shape of the binocular ensures a firm and steady grip, even in damp weather and while wearing gloves. The thumb rests on the back of the binocular are an added orientation aid for holding LEICA ULTRAVID BR models correctly without encumbering the user.
The multi-function center drive on LEICA ULTAVID BR and BL binoculars is a central operating element for focusing and diopter compensation conveniently positioned for user-friendly operation. Because of the short focusing path the setting from close-up to infinity takes just over one turn the optimal sharpness point can be found very quickly. The selected values are visible and clearly legible at all times in a newly styled diopter window.
The newly designed rotating and sliding eyecups on LEICA ULTRAVID BR/BL models can be pulled out to two different click-stop positions and their softly cushioning rubber rims provide an optimal placement at the eyes. This also significantly improved their user-friendliness for eyeglass wearers. The eyecups can be removed for easy cleaning.
LEICA ULTRAVID binoculars are - like those in the LEICA TRINOVID BL line watertight to a depth of 5 meters (16.4 ft), they are nitrogen-filled and functional in cold temperatures down to -25½ C (-13½ F).
