Excellent Color Correction and Beam Softener
I've been purchasing filters to color correct my LED flashlights for many years. I pick the filters by using my LEE Filter Swatch book, and the Hampshire Rose look like a perfect fit for my new Maglight 300XL 2xD flashlight, which typically has a slightly cyanish beam with a weird yellow spot around the corona and a purple spill.
The thing is, I liked the flashlight so much that I bought 4 more for Christmas presents, so I needed more filter material that what's in the swatch book.
What's neat, is that this filter took care of two problems at once, it not only corrected the color to near white, but because it's lightly frosted, it also smoothed out the beam, so no ugly rings, but it can still throw well. Absolutely perfect!!!
The only problem is that LED lights will cause these regular filters to fade after awhile, which is why LEE has the Zircon line now, which are much thicker and resistant to fading, however, they don't have the color in that line of filters yet, so I just bought this regular filter and will change out the filters on my flashlight as needed, not a big deal.
