Works perfectly for an unusual need

I purchased this to try to solve a problem with my Nikon 16-35 f/4, where it is impossible to add even the Lee WA mounting ring in front of a thin-mount circular polarizer. Because I often need to combine ND grads with polarizer, this is an issue. I had to resort to hand-holding the ND, which is not a great option. So I bought this ring, added a few layers of black electricians tape to the inner diameter, and it now fits perfectly onto the barrel of the lens. The 4x6 filter holder snaps onto the ring and the ND filter can be slid back until it is flush with the CP filter, eliminating the vignetting from the filter bracket. Perfect solution.

About Lee AR100 100 Adaptr Ring for Cameras

Adaptor rings fit into the lens to accommodate the filter holder. Once the adaptor is in place the filter holder clips firmly to it using a smooth, quick-release, spring-loaded mechanism.

Sturdily constructed with an aluminum screw thread, the adaptors are available in both standard and wide-angle configurations. Special sizes can be made to order.

The wide-angle adaptors are designed so that the filter is placed as close as possible to the front element of the camera lens, and should be used to prevent vignetting with wide angle lenses.
