The center pinch is useful for a hooded lens. This particular one works great in that its spring is strong enough to attach to the lens firmly. The "but..." means that the lens cap I received had no string attached. I ordered this particular cap because I wanted the string to act as a lens leash. I returned it.

Fits 55mm filters with 52mm adapter ring for 52mm lens. Bought the 55mm-52mm adapter ring at same time. Accomplished what I intended.

I got this for my rifle scope to cover the objective lens, IDd at 54mm. because the Butler Creek flip up cap kept opening up. There is plenty of room to fit this lens cover in. I think its smaller than 55 mm. It is easy to work as I can just press on the outside of the tabs or use the inside finger cups either way. I would like a bit more spring tension, it is a bit loose. The attachment cord could not fit thru the small hole so I drilled a 5/64" hole in the edge to secure the cord. It works fine. Overall very satisfied with this item doing a job for which it was not designed!

I had contacted other vendors online to find a cap for my Phoenix lens....Unfortunately, none of the ones I purchased actually fit the lens....until Adorama....they were able to get me what I needed....I wish I would have ordered from them first!! Adorama will always get my orders in the future.

Love the attached strap - don't have to remember where you put that darned lens cap! Needs a velcro dot or something to clip to camera strap to keep out of the way when shooting.

This cap features a front pinch style lens attachment, that does not protrude beyond the cap's diameter, rather than the snap-on outside grip style. The center pinch type is therefore much easier to attach and detach when a lens hood is mounted.
