The UH12NS29 is a great CD/DVD player. It will not play BluRay movies with the Super Multi Blue Install Disk CyberLink products installed. With a BluRay movie in the tray, right off the bat the CyberLink PowerDVD requests you to update. When the update is complete. It then give an error message 80xxxxxxxx. When this error message is checked it requests you to update PowerDVD (already performed this task. Also on the CyberLink update page is the opportunity to purchase the download version of PowerDVD. Pretty sneaky. I'll just go back to VLC to play the DVD's on this unit.

I bought the uh12ns29 blue ray combo drive primarily to play blue ray and 3d movies over the standard dvd player that I had in my computer. The player fit quite easily into the computer and used the power connectors. Windows 7 and 8 does not support blue ray though, so I bought power dvd 13 software and it works great with my LG prism 3d monitor. In the software setup you have to select microprism monitors and the 3d depth is much better than I ever thought possible.

I just got it two days ago, it is came without any softwer to play dlue-ray disk. I tried power DVD, it opens the blue-ray disk but constatntly froze down. I have total media theatre too, didn't even played at all. VLC play the DVD's just fine, but cannot find any softwer for blue-ray disk. So if you looking for a blue-ray player for your Pc, this not want you want.
