My friend... I don't remember the packaging. All I can tell you is that the chamber has engraved "Nikon BL-3" and " Made in Japan".
Other than that, it is doing its job holding the battery in the grip.

I'm not sure if I fully understand your question. If I remember correctly, the box was black and gold and did have Japanese (and several other languages ) on it. Most Nikon accessory boxes look like that. Hope this helps...

The one that I purchased was in a gold and black package. I don't remember any japanese on it.

Yes, this is the original Nikon part in that package. It is a perfect fit and eliminates the need to carry both types of batteries when you have the two cameras.
