After the tv was broken in for about 100 hours to age the pixels and was calibrated (non-professionally), the color was still vivid and the HD channels really popped! Very impressed with the PQ (picture quality)! And be prepared for incredible PQ when you hook up your Blu-ray via HDMI!!! Haven't used 3D yet, but the reason I purchased this one is for the processor - it is said to be one of the better ones for this price range. Standard def wasn't the best, but this is to be expected on a larger HD tv.

Out of the box, the THX calibration is the best for movies. There is also a feature that brightens the panel automatically when surrounding lights are turned on, but its not necessary since the PQ is not dark to begin with (this option can be disabled if desired).

There is very little "buzzing" when white/bright images are displayed. Also I was a bit concerned when I saw some IR (image retention) switching from my video source to cable, but it vanished a few seconds after the tv show displayed or when the channel was changed.

This tv is a bit heavy (around 85 lbs) and it does generate a bit of heat off of the panel, but this is common for plasma. Also, since the panel has 2 panes of glass, it is fragile, which means that it can easily crack if not handled/transported properly - so be sure to keep the box that it was shipped in!

One additional little feature that may seem meaningless is that when the tv is turned off, you hear that "click" sound along with the extinguishing of the red power light.
