51 Film is a medium-speed, ultra high-contrast film with limited middle tones. The high-contrast print is designed for special applications where contrast enhancement is desired. The accompanying re-usable negative is medium-contrast, with a wide tonal range, 2 - 3 stops less sensitive than the print.
