I have been using Photoflex products for over 20 years and they have always performed well. This is my first Octodome item and if anything, is built better than the other items I have used and abused. The quality throughout is great and functions perfectly. This is my second base and stand. I have used the base and short stand for everything from studio flash, speed lights and even a fan. It folds up small and takes very little room in a case.The flat form of the base works well for difficult placements, like under chairs or around props. Removing the base and it works well for solo shooting, getting the flash off camera and giving just shy of 3 feet of additional reach. A great product at a great value
