I bout two of these to expand my existing Phottix Ares system. Since they have both hot shoe and PC cable capabilities, I can fire everything in my bag and my studio off of one trigger. Works great all the way up to 1/200 on my Canon T2i. I've used them in my own studio, in the field, and visiting other studios for group shoots, and in every case they function flawlessly without any other photographers having any trouble either.

What more can be said about the Phottix Ares wireless flash triggers & receivers. They do what they're designed to do. I use the Phottix Ares to trigger my flashes remotely. Haven't had any problems with them. At an affordable price, they do a great job....at least for me.

Haven't had enough time to evaluate them quite yet in the field for durability, but the feel, craftsmanship and build of them is very nice - way better than other cheap trigger/receiver sets I have bought in the past - so far the test fires I have done were dead on and range awesome - they look and feel as if they will hold up very well - so far I'm happy with my purchase

The Phottix Ares Wireless Flash Trigger Receiver works great when I shoot product photos in Manual mode. This is a quality product that can't be beat for the price.

Phottix Ares Wireless Flash Trigger Receiver wirelessly triggers off-camera flashes and studio lights. This receiver attaches to portable flashguns with a hot shoe style mount or via a PC sync cable and is meant to be used with the Phottix Aster transmitter.
The Phottix Aster receiver offers multiple modes. W (wireless) Mode - The receiver is triggered by a wireless signal from the Phottix Aster transmitter. The receiver should be within 30 m. of the transmitter .L (light) Mode - The receiver is optically triggered. A camera's pop-up flash, or another flashgun or studio strobe will fire the flash unit connected to the receiver. The Phottix Aster receiver has 4 wireless channels to avoid radio interference and allows photographers to easily create multiple lighting set-ups.
