After doing a side by side comparison with the Nikon MB-D11 I decide to go with the Nikon instead. The MB-D11 simply felt more solid in my hand and not flimsy like the Phottix. The wheel to secure the grip to the camera was smooth and did not jiggle up and down like on the Phottix. The shutter release button and the latch to open the batter tray was also noticeable solid and had a better quality feel to is as well. Yeah I could have gone with the Phottix and save a couple hundred bucks but in the end I just felt that the Nikon version was going to last much longer.

The grip is as identical to the nikon version as it could be, it works just like it should and it matches the finish of my D7000 perfectly. I don't like that you must remove the grip to access the main body's battery, but it is that way for all brands, including Nikon's. Just a design flaw I suppose, but other than that, perfection.
