The flash works great and perform together with the Nikon system or the Odin controllers. The power output really close to the SB900, but the refreshing rate not that good. You can use the flash with battery packs, but the cable connection not the greatest (maybe copyright issue with Nikon?). Right now my biggest problem the upgrade! The firmware only works under WIndows system. They have promised to fix the Mac version since end of last year.

I use this flash unit with my SB-910 and SB-800 - and output and use wise there is no difference. The Mitros works with my Pocketwizard CTL system, the TT1 and TT5 triggers. It works fine with the Nikon CLS system too. Its built really really well, and feels very solid in the hand. Comes with an adapter so I can use my external SB-910 battery pack. Double the warranty, half the price of a SB-910, uses 3.5mm sync jack, equal output in terms of light and quality....it only zooms to 105mm and the 910 goes to 200mm but otherwise no difference. The optical slave function is more sensitive and the menu takes a minute to get used to compared to the nikon but then I've used the Nikon for years. I did order a second Mitros, I think they are better overall than the SB-910. We'll see as time goes by.

When unboxing the Mitros TTL for Nikon the quality of the packaging was great. The protective pouch is better the the Nikon version (i use SB 910's). I bought this flash to test it and see if it would be a good replacement for my 910's. The build quality feel good, as good as the nikon sb910. It comes with a sync cable, usb stick manual and a diffuser cap. This flash does everything a 910 does and even more. I like the optical Slave function what lacks the nikon variant. It is fully TTL and Nikon CLS compatible. I found that it is less powerful than the 910 and in TTL mode underexpose about 1 stop. I have 1 stop + compensation programmed into the Mitros now. The power compares to the SB 700. The recycle times are awful. On full power it takes over 5 sec to recharge using 2500mh Eneloop batteries. I tried different batteries too, no difference, even with the power pack it still is over 4 sec. When in slave mode it doesn't have a confirmation ready beep. The flash only confirms receiving the commander pre flash but does not confirm when its ready to fire again. A big negative for me as I use them only in Slave mode. I will keep using it but for me it is not a good replacement for my Nikon sb 910's. It worth paying the extra money. If you are just looking for an on camera TTL nikon flash, go for it. you will not be disappointed!

I have not used all the features yet, but I love the flash already. Worth the money!

I am just starting to learn off camera flash use, so my evaluation may not carry as much weight as more seasoned professionals. That said, the flash seems to do everything I've asked of it. I have zero issues with it either on or off of my D600. The TTL and CLS both work flawlessly. A great value for the money!

For the money this is a great flash compared to the Nikon equivalent. The build quality is very good and the case the flash comes in is better then the Nikon's. I did find that when shooting TTL the flash likes to over expose by about a stop. You can in the settings have the flash over/under expose to composite for this depending on what is does on your camera. Works fine with my pocket wizards tt5 and I found the menu relatively easy to operate. Not as easy as Nikon 700 or 910 but you should get the hang of it. I did find that the capacitors in it don't hold as much energy as the Nikon. After about 2-3 rapid flashes it needs to pause to recharge. If you don't fire in burst mode then this shouldn't affect you. The connector for connecting a battery pack is preparatory but does come with an adapter to use the nikon battery pack. I haven't used a battery pack so I don't know how much of a difference it makes.

I'll use this flash for weddings. The useful features are all the good things from the old Nikon SB800; power, ease of use, reliability (they say). Controls work easy. Has Master/Slave modes for the new TTL remote triggers. Only thing I'm not overly fond of is the long narrow Vertical AF assist red light.
